In our daily life, we often meet with difficulties. Some people do nothing but wait, while others try hard to conquer{#blank#}1{#/blank#}. Personally, we should face with difficulties positively and make every effort to overcome them.

    My memory drew me back to five years ago when I was {#blank#}2{#/blank#} middle school student. At that time, I had great trouble studying English. First of all, I felt it hard to memorize English {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (word). Besides I didn't dare to say anything in class when I{#blank#}4{#/blank#} (ask) questions.     Tomb Sweeping Day-the day on {#blank#}1{#/blank#} people remember their dead {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (relative) and visit their graves, has just gone. But this year, an interesting story happened on that day. Let me share {#blank#}3{#/blank#} with you.

    At that night, after dinner, a boy was taking a walk in the road. When he walked past a convenience store he thought of going in {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (buy) something. Then he realized that he didn't have money with him. So, his mother {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (phone) to bring some money to him.

    One Sunday morning in August, I went to a local music festival. I left it early because I had an appointment later that day. My friends walked me to the bus stop and waited with me {#blank#}1{#/blank#} the bus arrived. I got on the bus and found a seat near the back, and then I noticed an old woman with shabby clothes sitting at the front. She was pretending that a tiger toy was real and talking to it. She {#blank#}2{#/blank#} be so lonely.

    Behind her were other people to {#blank#}3{#/blank#} she was trying to talk, but after some minutes they walked away and sat near me, looking annoyed. I didn't want to be laughed at for talking to her but I didn't like leaving her on her own either.

    After a while I rose from my seat and walked to the front of the bus  I sat next to the woman and introduced myself. We had an {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (amaze) conversation. She got off the bus before me and I felt very happy the rest of my way home.

    I'm glad I made the choice. It made {#blank#}5{#/blank#} of us feel good.

    When in 1984 I. M. Pei, then the most sought-after architect in America, {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (present) his plans for a 70-foot glass pyramid in the 18th-century courtyard of the Louvre, the general{#blank#}2{#/blank#}(react) was anger. Because Mr. Pei was Chinese-American, he{#blank#}3{#/blank#} (apparent) had no under standing of the Louvre, or Paris, or France.

    However, these remarks did not annoy him. With quick enthusiasm and wide smiles, he took them.     When he was a child, his imagination {#blank#}7{#/blank#}( shape) by his family's ancient gardens at Suzhou in Jiangsu. There, he would wander winding{#blank#}8{#/blank#}(path) through fantastic rocks towards pavilions (亭子), unconsciously {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (absorb) the beauty of the surroundings.

    Mr. Pei built a hotel complex at Fragrant Hill outside Beijing, after returning to China in 1974. He regarded this as a chance{#blank#}10{#/blank#} (bring) the Chinese away from their dull eastern European blocks and back to the domestic traditions they had lost.
