    Once there had a wooden pagoda（塔）in my village. It had a history of over eight hundreds years. It was such beautiful and famous that many tourists came to visit it every year. They took photos, write down their names on the walls and even threw rubbishes everywhere.

    Later the pagoda was destroyed because of a fire in the forest nearby it. The villagers had to spend a great deal of money build another pagoda, that looked like the old one. Now not only the villagers realize the importance of protecting the pagoda but also tourists know that they should try his best not to cause damage to it.

    Cars are everywhere. In big city and small towns, the preferred method of transportation is the automobile. People can get to where they need to go quickly and easy, and it has given a new kind of freedom to many people who may not have experienced it ago. But is driving really the best thing for our society? I argue that it is not. First, pollution was a serious problem, and more cars only make them worse. There is just not way to reduce pollution without decrease the number of cars on the road. Second, cars are very dangerous. Traffic accidents are responsible tens of thousands of deaths every year. Finally, cars are so expensive for most people to afford. However, that doesn't stop low-income families from spending the most of their money to pay for the family car.

    Last month, my good friend Mark got an expensive watch as his birthday present. He showed to everyone in my class proud. I really envied him and every day I ask my mum to buy me an expensive present. However, to my disappointment, I only got a second-hand bike at that special day. So one day while I was riding my “dear” bike back home from school, I passed the shop that my mum worked. I saw a familiar figure kneeling down in the front of it cleaned the outside steps of the shop. It was my mum! She worked so harder to raise me! Tear in my eyes, I got off the bike and worked together with her.

    Hello, everyone! I would like to share my travel experience for you. Last summer, ours school had an exchange programme with an American school, but I took part in it with many classmates. We stay at host families, that gave us an opportunity to learn more about America. The main part of our programme was to experience the school life in the America. Compare with Chinese students, American students were very open and active. Besides, they had less homeworks and fewer exams. During the visit, I made friends with some American students, who were very interesting in Chinese culture. I think the programme is of great benefit to us as well the American students.
