Did you know that tea, the most popular drink in the world (after water), was invented by accident? Many people believe that tea was first drunk about5, 000 years ago. It is said that a Chinese ruler Shen Nong first discovered tea as a drink. One day Shen Nong was boiling water over an open fire. Some from a tea plant fell into the water and remained there for some time. It produced a nice smell so he tasted the brown water. It was quite delicious. Thanksgiving is an American festival. It is celebrated on the {#blank#}1{#/blank#} Thursday in November. It is a time for a special dinner among family and friends. People make short {#blank#}2{#/blank#} and give thanks for their food.
We have celebrated the festival since the first pioneers (先驱者) arrived in America in the 17th century. We lay the table, and then before we begin dinner, my father gives thanks for the food. We often talk a lot and tell stories after dinner as well.
