I have tried to write a ghost（鬼魂） story that won't make you unhappy with yourselves，with each other，with the seasons，or with me．I hope it haunts（飘荡） your houses pleasantly．

By Charles Dickens One Christmas Eve，old Scrooge and Bob were working busily in his office．It was a cold，foggy day．The fog was so thick that the houses opposite were like ghosts．It was only three o'clock in the afternoon，but it was already quite dark．

"Merry Christmas，Uncle!"cried a happy voice．It was Scrooge's nephew（侄子）．

"Bah!"said Scrooge，"Humbug（骗人的话）!"

"Christmas is a humbug？Surely you don't mean that，Uncle．"said his nephew．

"I do，"said Scrooge．"Merry Christmas!What reason have you got to be merry？You're poor．"

"OK，then，"replied the nephew cheerfully．"What reason have you got to be sad？You are rich．Don't be angry，Uncle!"said his nephew．

"What else can I be？"answered the uncle，"I live in a world of fools!Merry Christmas!What's Christmas time to you？It's a time for paying bills without money？!It's a time for finding yourself a year older，but not richer．

Everyone who goes around saying 'Merry Christmas' should have his tongue cut out．Yes，he should!"

"Uncle!Please don't say that!"said the nephew．"I've always thought of Christmas time as a good time，a kind，and a charitable（慈善的）and happy time．And so，Uncle，Christmas has never put any gold or silver in my pocket，but I think it has done me good．And it will do me good．I'm sure．"

Bob，standing in the corner of the room，applauded．He realized his mistake very soon，and went quickly back to his work，but Scrooge had heard him．

"One more sound from you，Bob Cratchit，"said Scrooge，"and you'll celebrate Christmas by losing your job!"

"Don't be angry with him，Uncle．Come and have dinner with us tomorrow．"said Scrooge's newphew．

"No．"said Scrooge．

I'm sorry you don't want to celebrate Christmas．But I do．So a Merry Christmas，Uncle!"

"Good afternoon!"said Scrooge．

"And a Happy New Year!"said his nephew．

"Good afternoon!"said Scrooge again．

His nephew left the room．He stopped to wish Bob a Merry Christmas．And Bob replied，"A Merry Christmas to you，too．"

     Spiderman is one of the most famous comic book heroes of all time. He was created by Stan Lee in 1963 and was first introduced to the world in the pages of Marvel comic books.
     Spiderman's story is the story of Peter Parker, a child who lost his parents and lives with his aunt and uncle. Peter is a shy, quiet boy wearing glasses and has few friends. One day, on a high school class trip to a science lab, he gets bitten by a special spider. Soon Peter realizes he has amazing powers: he is as strong and quick as a spider and also has a type of sixth sense. He no longer needs his glasses and he can use his super power to fly through the city streets! Remembering something his Uncle Ben has told him, that "with great power, there must also come great responsibility（责任）," Peter decides to use his powers to fight enemies who do cruel things to people. And so, Spiderman is born.
     Life is not easy for Peter even though he is a superhero. He is in love with Mary Jane but cannot tell her about his amazing powers. Besides, his best friend Harry hates Spiderman! Peter is also short of money and time. He has to sell photos of Spiderman (himself!) to a newspaper and he keeps losing his other jobs because he's so busy saving people! Yet he has to fight different kinds of cruel enemies.

    A woman repeated a bit of gossip (流言) about a neighbour. Within a few days the whole neighbourhood knew the story. The neighbour was deeply hurt. Later the woman responsible (负责) for spreading the gossip learned that it was completely untrue. She was very sorry and went to a wise old man to find out what she could do to repair the harm.
   “Go to the marketplace,” he said. “and buy a chicken, and have it killed, then on your way home, pluck (拔) its feathers and drop them one by one along the road. ” Although surprised by this advice, the woman did what she was told.
   The next day the wise man said, “ Now, go and collect all those feathers you dropped yesterday and bring them back to me. ”
The woman followed the same road, but she was so discouraged when she found the wind had blown all the feathers away. After searching for hours, she returned with only three in her hand.
   “ You see, ” said the old man, “it's easy to drop them, but it's impossible to get them back . So it is with gossip. It doesn't take much to spread a gossip, but once you do, you can never completely undo the wrong.”

Bill, Frank and Dave were three brothers. Every year they sent their mother expensive gifts on her birthday,. They liked to show her how rich they were.
The eldest brother. Bill, had a lot of money and he wanted his mother to have the most expensive gifts, but he didn't know what to buy. So he put an ad in the newspaper. “Wanted－the greatest gift for my mother.”
About a week before his mother's birthday a man came to his office. He brought a big bird.
“This bird.” the man said, “can speak ten languages and sing some pop songs.”
“Really? I'd like to listen to it,” Bill said.
The man made the bird talk in French and tell a joke in Japanese. Then the bird sang a beautiful song. Bill was very happy and paid nine thousand dollars for the bird. The next day Bill sent the bird to his mother with a birthday card.
The day after his mother's birthday he called his mother. “Well, mother” he asked, “What do you think of the bird?”
“Oh, it's very delicious, dear.” said his mother.

Jackie Chan was born on 7th April, 1954 in Hong Kong. His parents left the mainland（大陆） for Hong Kong a short time before he was born. His parents named him Chan Gangsheng, which means “born in Hong Kong”. When Jackie was 7 years old, his family moved to Australia. Later that year, they got back to Hong Kong and Jackie's father sent him to Beijing to study and work. When Jackie was 17, he began to do dangerous performances（表演） in films. In the early 1980s, Jackie went to Hollywood, but he wasn't successful there. He went on to make films in Hong Kong and had great success. Finally, in 1985, Jackie Chan became a movie star in the United States. Today Jackie Chan has fans all over the world.

Nick Vujicic was born, without arms and legs, in 1982 in Melbourne, Australia. Nick
faced all kinds of problems and troubles in his life. But he never gives up. Now Nick
has his own speaking company; Attitude Is Attitude. And he has traveled around the
world to give speeches. He shares （分享）with his audience（观众）the importance
of vision （幻觉）and dreaming big. He says attitude (态度) is the most powerful tool
in the life and failure (失败) is just a learning experience.

Mark Zuckerberg, the boss of Facebook, is only 28. In only 8 years, Zuck turned his

January is a great month. I only need to go to school from the first to the fifteenth. Every year, our school has an art festival. This year it is from January 13^th to January 15^th. All the students and parents can come to the festival. My mother says she can go to the festival with me, but my father can't. He is busy. All people can sing, dance and play games at the festival. After the festival, the term is over. I don't need to go to school and can have a long holiday. My parents and I want to take a trip in Sanya, Hainan. And we want to spend (度过) our Spring Festival(春节)there. We will come back to Beijing on February 15^th. I'm sure we'll enjoy it!
