语法填空

When I was a child in 1970s, my family was very poor, just other average families in the countryside. The second-hand clothes and rain leaking roof of old house became part of my memory. However, the worst (impress) is that I was feeling hungry all the time. Sometimes hunger bit me so severely  I regarded dried sweet potato slices as delicious snack. At that time, my dream was getting enough to fill my empty stomach.

In the early years of 1980s, with the reform and opening-up policy  (carry) out, the children's dream came true. And thendream became clear and clear in my mind, I must try my best to escape out of my poor and backward hometown. I worked (hard) at my study than most of my classmates, and, after lucky (succeed) in the national college entrance examination, I realized my dream again: after graduation, I became a citizen working in a city. As the first college graduate out of a remote village, I set an example for my folks. came to realize that schooling is a good way to change one's fate. In the (follow) years, there were fewer dropouts and more college graduates in my village, of I am proud even today.

One of my main concerns when I am helping people achieve their goals {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (be) how they measure success . I see individuals getting  {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (frustrate) as they struggle hard for success.

The main reason is that people allow their definition of success to be determined by someone or something else. We should look at {#blank#}3{#/blank#} own skills to determine what is successful to us. We should look inwards to determine {#blank#}4{#/blank#} it would mean for us to be successful in our own mind.

Evaluating a successful person needs {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (look) at his pathway to success, his action and his{#blank#}6{#/blank#} (determine). You must set your own course of action, {#blank#}7{#/blank#} stay on your course. You alone must determine what success means to you. Do what you do to the best of your ability and the rest will take care of itself.

Here is the {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (true). Being a success is doing your best, not being the best. Success is not something you become, but it is something you continue being.

When we get to that point, we will experience a lot more joy and a lot less depression. And that {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (sound) good to us!

Remember the great quote from Napoleon Hill, “If you cannot do great things, do small things in {#blank#}10{#/blank#} great way.”

What was supposed to be {#blank#}1{#/blank#} fun climb became a test of friendship for two young people from Canada last Saturday. Jeremy Savage and Ian Marshall, both {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(age) 17, went camping with their parents for the weekend. On Saturday morning, they decided to climb the mountain by themselves while their parents relaxed at the campsite. After three hours, they reached the top {#blank#}3{#/blank#} no problems.

However, trouble began when they started the climb down the mountain. On one very {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (danger) part of the path, Ian fell three meters off the side of the path. Jeremy was able to climb down to where Ian was. Ian was  {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (bad) injured and could not move. They had to wait and {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (hope) that someone would come and help them. As the evening grew {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (dark), Ian told Jeremy to leave him and go back to their parents, but he still did not leave. Jeremy thought {#blank#}8{#/blank#} was not safe for Ian to be alone. The night was cold and windy, and Jeremy used his jacket and extra shirt to keep Ian warm.

At sunrise, Jeremy decided that the only way  {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (help) his friend was to carry him. So they started the long climb back to their parents. Finally, after four hours, they arrived at the campsite {#blank#}10{#/blank#} their parents were waiting, “I'll always remember what Jeremy did for me.” said Ian. “He saved my life.”
