I have changed much ever since I {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(enter) senior high school. In the past, I {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (use) to play computer games in an Internet bar in the street. {#blank#}3{#/blank#}a result, I became  {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (lazy) than ever before. To me, study seemed boring and endless, {#blank#}5{#/blank#} made me fall behind others in my class. Now I've realized time is too precious {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(waste). So I'm trying to make up for the{#blank#}7{#/blank#}(miss) time and spare no effort to study hard. I've made it a rule to rise(起床)early and pay my attention {#blank#}8{#/blank#}books immediately I sit down. The final-term exam is {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(come) and I am doing what I can to prepare for it. I believe I can make great progress and {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(final)realize my dreams.

    To celebrate the Lantern Festival the Palace Museum organized its first light show in the Forbidden City.

    The complex, home to Chinese emperors for five {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(century), was opened at night for the first time in 94 years. It was lit up with giant red lanterns and projections of ancient paintings. Masterpieces such as Along the River During the Qingming Festival were projected on the roofs, giving visitors a feeling like walking {#blank#}2{#/blank#} time. The design team smartly combined high technology{#blank#}3{#/blank#}(light) with the principles of cultural relic preservation.

    Only 3, 000 people {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(allow) in on that day: 500 people who booked their tickets online, and 2, 500{#blank#}5{#/blank#}(invite) guests including model workers, officers, soldiers, and ambassadors.

    With{#blank#}6{#/blank#} series of well-planned and tourist-friendly cultural activities, the Palace Museum is now on a campaign to make traditional Chinese culture more {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(access) to the general public. It has set an example to other museums in our country, most of {#blank#}8{#/blank#} seem to be still living in days gone by. Hopefully, the handsome turnover will be used{#blank#}9{#/blank#}(appropriate) to better protect the Forbidden City and improve {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(it)international image of being part of the world's cultural heritage.

    With the passing of 2018 and Spring Festival, we{#blank#}1{#/blank#}(start) a new important year already.

    This year is one of the final stepping stones to becoming a{#blank#}2{#/blank#}(moderate) prosperous society in 2020. Meanwhile, 2019 marks the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. To prepare for 2019, the government made{#blank#}3{#/blank#}(it) economic agenda (事项) clear at the Central Economic Work Conference,{#blank#}4{#/blank#} (attend) by the country's leaders in Beijing in December.

    Great attention will keep on{#blank#}5{#/blank#}(pay) to China's growth performance in 2019. To meet the target of doubling 2010 GDP by the end of 2020, it needs to average about 6.3 percent this year and next.

    Meanwhile, China will host the second Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation in April. At this event, the Belt and Road Initiative,{#blank#}6{#/blank#}has huge potential to drive economic growth, will take greater shape.

    This year is also likely to pave the way for a number of technological{#blank#}7{#/blank#}(advance). China is expected to roll out 5G, the next generation of{#blank#}8{#/blank#}(wire) technology, next year. It's up to 100 times faster{#blank#}9{#/blank#}the current 4G technology.

    It will be a year for China to reflect{#blank#}10{#/blank#}its past and future direction,

    No trip would be complete without experiencing the local food culture. Actually, China has various kinds of delicious food, including a wide variety of local snacks.

    For most of the foreigners I contacted, and myself {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (include), Peking Duck, Mongolian Hot Pot are the favourite Chinese dishes. China is a place {#blank#}2{#/blank#} the food is not only delicious, but the {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(cheap) I've ever found.

    {#blank#}4{#/blank#} my last night in Beijing before {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (return) to the States, I went to a Peking Duck restaurant that had been suggested for me to try. What a beautiful place! Splendid woodblock prints on the walls, fresh flowers in the vases,  {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(attract) silverware (银餐具) and beautiful chopsticks. I was handed {#blank#}7{#/blank#} menu and found most of the prices were especially low for the high quality of the food. The lucky came in whole or half, along with all the little decorations - a little tortilla (玉米粉圆饼) to put the sliced cluck and vegetables in, chopped onion and sauce.

    Anyway, I ordered a whole duck, thinking I'd just take the rest back to my hotel {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(eat) later if I couldn't finish it.{#blank#}9{#/blank#}(believable), in the end there was none of the whole duck {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(leave) on the plate.

    The art of paper-cutting in China may date back to the second century, since paper {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(invent)by Cai Lun in the Eastern Han Dynasty in China. As paper became more affordable, paper-cutting became one of the most important {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(type) of Chinese folk art. Later, {#blank#}3{#/blank#}different regions using their own cultural styles, this art form spread to other parts of the world. {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(usual), the artworks are made of red paper, as red is connected with {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(happy)in Chinese culture, but other colors are also used.

    With {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(it)long history, paper-cutting, {#blank#}7{#/blank#}originated in China, has been very popular among the ordinary Chinese people. People put up papercuts on walls, windows and doors at wedding ceremonies or festivals {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(add)to the cheerful atmosphere(氛围).

    Chinese papercuts are rich in content. The auspicious(吉祥的)designs symbolize good luck and the avoidance of evil. The child, lotus(莲花)and bat designs suggest a family with {#blank#}9{#/blank#} large number of children and grandchildren. Birds, livestock, fruit, fish and worms are also familiar objects {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(accept) by Chinese farmers. In a word, papercuts used in different occasions have different meanings.
