A new library in Tianjin-Tianjin Binhai Public Library-recently became {#blank#}1{#/blank#}online hit. The Daily Mail described it {#blank#}2{#/blank#}the “world's ultimate library”, while the word “breathtaking” was the {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(choose) of Newsweek magazine. One look at the library {#blank#}4{#/blank#}you'll see why. With its futuristic design and walls {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(fill) with books, it's the dream library of every book lover. But as the admiration    a burning question {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (die) in the back of our minds: When physical bookstores are closing down one by one, {#blank#}7{#/blank#}makes libraries free from the wave of digitalization? And do we really still need libraries now we've got the Internet in our hands?

    Reporter Ian Clark has the answer. “Libraries are not falling in importance - people are {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(simple) changing the way they use them,” he wrote on the Guardian website. We still need the physical space that a library provides. It's something that {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(call) a “third place”, according to the Seattle Times. This is a place in {#blank#}10{#/blank#}we can fully concentrate on our study and work without easily getting distracted.

    I don't very often have a full day off work. Today I did. I had a leisurely morning, going to the gym, {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(walk) the dog, feeding my friend's cat, and thought I would hurry into the office at Job number 2, to fill in my time sheet so I would {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (pay) for the hours I have worked. I was thinking that I had worked less hours because the lady I share job with was working instead {#blank#}3{#/blank#} me. I prayed then, that somehow we would have {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (much) money coming in this month and imagined money coming in to my bank account.

    I arrived at the office to see the main secretary looking very pale. She asked what my afternoon {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (plan) were, when I said I had the afternoon free she asked me {#blank#}6{#/blank#} I could work for her, as she had really hurt her back. I was really looking forward to a day off, but she looked in such pain that I said yes straight away. She did a quick handover of what{#blank#}7{#/blank#}(be) urgent and needed to be done.

    I raced home and got {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(change) into work appropriate clothes and took over. Our boss phoned and thanked me for steeping in so that everything went {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(smooth). Thee unwell person went home, and I got four hours extra pay. It's amazing how {#blank#}10{#/blank#}universe works.

    Li Qiang couldn't believe that he had travelled to the year AD 3008 {#blank#}1{#/blank#} a time capsule. Transported by Wang Ping's parents' company {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (call) "Future Tours", he started his first time trip. On his {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (arrive), the totally new surroundings were difficult for him {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(tolerate). His head ached for lack of fresh air {#blank#}5{#/blank#} he also suffered from "time lag". {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (Lucky), his guide, Wang Ping, who was very understanding, gave him much help in time. He gave Li Qiang some green tablets and a mask, {#blank#}7{#/blank#} helped Li overcome the problems.

    After a short time of feeling unsettled and nervous, Li Qiang was back on {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (he) feet again. Then he followed Wang Ping to collect a hovering carriage that {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (drive) by computer. Soon he could fly as swiftly as Wang Ping. How amazing it was to fly above the ground! Then they arrived at a strange-looking house belonging to Wang Ping's parents. Li Qiang was treated to a delicious dinner and had a wonderful bath there. {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (exhaust), Li Qiang slid into bed and fell fast asleep.

    Traditional Chinese medicine has been practised for around 3, 000 years, but it {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (be) relatively recent in the West, and acupuncture(针灸)only really became well known in the West in the 1970s as people began to travel {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (much)frequently between the two areas of the world.

    A significant event in the history of acupuncture {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (come)in 1971, when a journalist from the New York Times had his appendix(阑尾) {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (remove)in China, when on a trip to the country with Henry Kissinger, the Secretary of State for the USA. Surgeons used acupuncture to deaden the pain of the operation, {#blank#}5{#/blank#}greatly impressed Kissinger.

    Although at first doctors in the West were often sceptical of the {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (medicine)value of acupuncture, in the last few years it has become more established {#blank#}7{#/blank#} an alternative to Western medical treatments, since clinical tests have shown that acupuncture is effective for  {#blank#}8{#/blank#} number of conditions.

    In the West, the treatment is often used {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (relieve)headaches, dental pain, back pain and arthritis, and to treat depression, asthma, stress, high blood pressure and anxiety. Cherie Blair, a well-known human rights lawyer and the wife of the British Prime Minister, was recently spotted {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (wear)an acupuncture needle in her ear, suggesting that she uses the treatment to deal with stress.

    According to a study published in the journal Nature Sustainability in February, China and India are{#blank#}1{#/blank#}(main) responsible for making the Earth greener over the past two decades. Since 2000, the Earth's green leaf area{#blank#}2{#/blank#} (increase) by 5 percent, or over 5 million square kilometers. That's{#blank#}3{#/blank#}area equal to the total area of the Amazon rainforest. It is basically the result of many big tree-planting{#blank#}4{#/blank#}(project) in China and intensive agriculture(集约农业)in both countries.

    China and India contribute{#blank#}5{#/blank#}one third of the increasing greening, but contain only 9 percent of the planet's land area covered in vegetation(植被). China was the major contributor,{#blank#}6{#/blank#} (add) 25 percent to this increase, while India added 6.8 percent.

    Over the past few decades, China has made great efforts to green the land. In 1978, China {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(begin) a national-level forestation project-the Three North Shelterbelt Forest Program, also{#blank#}8{#/blank#}(know) as the “Great Green Wall”. The program has seen many trees planted in northern China to act as windbreaks (防风林). By the end of 2017, the forest coverage rate had reached 13.57 percent, compared to 5.05 percent 40 years ago.

    In the light of China's{#blank#}9{#/blank#}(succeed) in greening the desert, the UN believes the country is a good example for others{#blank#}10{#/blank#}(follow) and has lessons to share with the world.
