I got out of the train station with my father. A woman came to him and said that her money had been stolen(偷). She asked if he could1her some money to go back home. My father gave her what she asked for and told her not to worry about paying it back. I was2. How could my father be so silly? Anyone could see that she was telling a lie(谎言), staying at the station all day long3for money.

    "She was lying!" I said."4did you give her the money?"

    My father looked at me. He was a bit angry. "And what would you like me to do?" he said.

    "Should I tell her that I am a college professor and I can see through her scam(骗局）？" I did not5his meaning at all, and then he told me something that I have6forgotten. "First, she would not do this7she didn't need the money. Second, I made her day, because now she thinks that she's8than me. It is more important to9than the money. but I don't mind this."

    A week later, we were at the same station, and the same woman came to my father with the same story. "Not this time," my father told her. "In your business, you should learn to recognize(认出) people. Try another10on me next week."

    Vincent got up at half past six in the morning. He hurriedly put on his clothes and finished the 1  prepared by Grandma. His grandparents were the only two people 2 with him. As soon as he waved goodbye to them, Vincent 3out to the small car park (停车场). Dad's car was already there.

    "Good morning, Dad. You are earlier than I expected," said Vincent. And he got into the car happily.

    "I 4  you," Dad smiled and drove off.

    "Me too. 5  can I live with Mum and you again?" asked Vincent.

    "I've told you hundreds of times. Mum will be back in two months. We will live together again then. Mum always loves her6 and she wants to take the chance to meet more clients (客户)," Dad explained, "And her boss told her that she might become the manager. Are you7  ?"

    "Not at all. Is work more important than me?" asked Vincent.

    "No, of course not. You are the most important to Mum and Dad, 8 we have to work. You will understand us when you grow up," said Dad as he 9 at the school gate.

    Vincent got out of the 10 . Dad drove off, going back to his office.

    When I was a small boy, something happened to me that made me never put any wild creature in a cage.

    We lived near a forest, and every evening the mockingbird would come and1 I decided to catch a young 2and keep it in a cage, and in this way, I would have my own private musician. Then I succeeded in catching one and put it in a cage. At first, the bird was3so it fluttered (扑腾) in the cage. But finally it was used to living in its new home. I felt very excited with myself and4 some beautiful singing.

    On the second day, the little bird's mother flew to the cage with5 in her mouth. The baby bird ate everything. I was6to see this. Certainly the mother bird knew how to feed her baby better than I did.

    The following morning when I went to see my bird, I found it 7on the floor of the cage. I was terribly surprised and sad! What had happened?

    Arthur Wayne, a famous biologist, happened to8 my father at that time. After she knew my story, she explained to me, “A mother mockingbird, finding her young in a cage, will9 bring it poison berries. She thinks it better for her baby to die than to lose10”.

    Since then I have never caught any living creature and put it in a cage. All living things have a right to live free.

He was a poet known for the nostalgia(乡愁) he described in his poem. In 2017, the famous Chinese poet Yu Guangzhong passed away in Taiwan. Now, it's time for us {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(express) our nostalgia for this great writer.

Born in 1928 in Nanjing, Jiangsu, Yu studied in Sichuan when he was young. At that time, he had showed great interest in Chinese poems and{#blank#}2{#/blank#}(spend) a lot of his free time trying writing poems himself. Then he managed to publish his first poem at the age of 20. A year later, Yu and his family moved to Taiwan. He lived and worked there{#blank#}3{#/blank#} his death.

Nostalgia is Yu's masterpiece(杰作) in which he expressed his homesickness for the Chinese mainland(大陆) when he was in Taiwan. Published in 1971, the poem remains{#blank#}4{#/blank#}(high) popular among Chinese speakers worldwide. Even those who know little about literature are familiar{#blank#}5{#/blank#} are lines from the poem. The poem{#blank#}6{#/blank#}(include) in Chinese high school textbooks. Besides his achievements in poetry, Yu was also a successful essay writer, critic and{#blank#}7{#/blank#}(translate).

He once translated Siegfried Sassoon's poem, In Me, Past, Present, Future Meet, an English poem, into Chinese. It is regarded as a{#blank#}8{#/blank#}(power) translation, in which the most famous line is "心有猛虎、细嗅蔷薇"for "In me the tiger sniffs the rose".

Yu spent his whole life writing. "The reason why I stick to {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(write) till today comes down to my passion for the Chinese language," he said in {#blank#}10{#/blank#} interview in 2015. He then added that this passion was strengthened(加强) by his love for his mother and motherland.

My grandmother left me almost 18 years ago but I still miss her every day. She was such an important part of my life. My mum, dad, brothers and I lived in her old house for most of my childhood. When I close my eyes and open my heart. I can still see her in her flower print, cotton dress. I can hear her high voice saying "hello" as I opened the door after school, while her arms opened to give me a big hug and a kiss. I can even remember the smell of hers. When she hugged me, I could feel the love and joy coming from her heart. 

I thought I knew everything about my grandma, but amazingly, I am still learning more about her even today. Just yesterday an old family friend stopped to talk to me at the post office. She told me what happened once she visited my grandma when I was still a little boy. They were sitting around the dining room table talking and our friend noticed the lovely earrings my grandma was wearing. She told my grandma how much she liked them and asked if my grandma could leave them to her in her will(遗嘱). Without a second thought, my sweet grandma took them off and gave them to her. 

I decided then that I want to regard my grandma as my role model. Be nice and care more about people and less about things.
