An elephant and a monkey were arguing.

  “Look, how big and strong I am!” The elephant said.

    The monkey disagreed, “Look, how fast I can run and climb! Can you?”

    At last they asked a wise tiger, “Which is better—to be strong or to be quick?”

    The tiger said, “Go across the river and pick the fruit on that tree for me, then I can tell.”

    So they went to the river, but the water ran fast and the monkey was afraid.

“Get on my back,” said the elephant proudly, “I shall carry you.”

Soon they crossed the river. There stood the tree. But the fruit was too high for the elephant to reach. He also tried to pull the tree down, but failed.

  “Don't worry.” The monkey climbed quickly up the tree, and picked the fruit.

    Then they returned and gave the tiger the fruit. “Which is better—to be strong or to be quick?”

The tiger smiled, “Neither of you could get the fruit alone. It took both the elephant's strength and the monkey's quickness to get it.”

      It is Sunday today. Ann is shopping with her mother. She wants her mother to buy a sweater for her.

In a clothes shop, she finds an orange one. She tries it on, but it's too small. She wants a bigger one, but the bigger ones are not orange. Ann doesn't like other colours. Her mother asks, "Shall we go to another shop to have a look?" So they go out of this shop and go into another.

      The second shop is much bigger than the first, and in it there are many kinds of sweaters of different sizes and colours. Ann tries on an orange one. It's too big. She tries a smaller one. It's OK.

“How much is it?” Ann's mother asks the woman who sells clothes.

      Then they find it too expensive, and they don't have so much money with them.

    “Would you like a cheaper one?” The woman asks.

    “No, we shall take this one. My daughter likes it. We shall come back to buy tomorrow.” Ann's mother answers.

      After that, they leave the shop to buy some other things.

    I have spent almost a third of my life in China, living and working in this beautiful country. In a sense, China has been and is still my second home But in those past years I ha d never been to Quzhou.

Some days ago, for the first time in my Chinese life, I stepped into the beautiful city of Quzhou. My impressions of Quzhou city were as I always thought: green countryside, rainy sky, wet air. That was what I imagined for years the south of China would be. When we finally arrived, I was impressed by the elegant (优雅的) city.

Next day we were taken to visit some places not far away from the city. I was not aware of the direction of our short trip, but when we arrived at Lanke Mountain and got out of the car, I thought that we had been taken to a fairyland (仙境) : the light rain over the green and thick plants, the silvery sky like a heavy blanket and the mystery (神秘) of this mountain made me feel like being part of a picture.

Jiulong Lake was our next step. The mystic atmosphere (气氛) of this place was so strong that I decided to watch the view standing at the top when I stepped into the small boat to sail upstream. Sometimes we were so close to the mountain that we could clearly see the red soil under the plants. I was thinking of the joy to be in a place like Jiulong Lake and how it would be to live among those hills for a while.

    The final leg of the day's journey was a primary school. We were welcomed by the smiles on the faces of many young pioneers. The energy of the hundreds of kids made me feel younger for a while, so educated, so polite and so warm that I had no doubt about the future generations of Quzhou people. The people seem to me the best of Quzhou and they will remain in my memories forever.

    Kung Fu Panda is a 2008 American computer-animated action comedy movie made by DreamWorks. It was directed by John Stevenson and Mark Osborne. It tells the story about a big fat panda named Po who is a kung fu fan. The movie came out in 2008 and stars Jack Black as Po. It received critical acclaim and became a box office success. Nothing is written on the scroll, but Po finds out that he doesn't need the scroll to be the Dragon Warrior and beats Tai Lung without it. Po becomes a kung fu master and Dragon Warrior loved by everyone and peace returns to the land.

    One night a patient went fishing in another man's boat outside Albert Smith's hospital. The owner of the boat thought he should get all the fish from the patient.

    Dr Smith said to the boat owner, "You are right because you didn't allow him to use your boat. But you are wrong because you are careless and lazy. You seldom(很少) put your boat in a safe place and fasten it with a lock. Because of your laziness you were asleep on this moonlit night instead of making use of the good time to fish. "
