    Another good reason for reading books is{#blank#}5{#/blank#} it is useful. If you read as a hobby you{#blank#}6{#/blank#} (get) better and better at it. This means that you will read faster and become {#blank#}7{#/blank#}( better)at understanding what you read. As your reading improves, you will probable find your schoolwork becomes much easy.     Good readers are most likely to be good{#blank#}9{#/blank#} (write), too．They are usually good at {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(spelling) as well, and have more things to write. Reading books is really a wonderful hobby.

    As a listening child,I often heard{#blank#}1{#/blank#}(old) people say:"What dreams I had!"and"If only I had my life to live over."I{#blank#}2{#/blank#}(understand) that these men and women had missed the fullness of life somehow.

    But I wasn't going to miss it,I decided at the age of fourteen.In a slightly{#blank#}3{#/blank#}(use) copy book,I made a full list of what I wanted from life.I would be devoted to{#blank#}4{#/blank#}(realize) them one by one.{#blank#}5{#/blank#},as years went by,I was middle aged and alone.My children had left to make their own full life somewhere.I,too,didn't realize even half the amount {#blank#}6{#/blank#}what I had planned.One rainy night,I went to the bookstore to get a paperback book to read{#blank#}7{#/blank#}(me) to sleep on.I picked up an Emile Zola book,{#blank#}8{#/blank#}reminded me of something I had read long ago: Zola had said,“To have a child,to plant a tree,to write a book.”That,he said,was a full life!A great stillness grew about me as I realized I had a child,I'd planted a tree,and in fact,I'd even written a book.

    Eventually,I came to a clear{#blank#}9{#/blank#}(conclude),and it is{#blank#}10{#/blank#}university one: To live,to struggle,to be in love with life is fulfillment.

    For Nigel Portman, a love of travelling began with what's called a "gap year". In common with many other British teenagers, he chose{#blank#}1{#/blank#}（take） a year out before settling down to study for his degree. After doing various{#blank#}2{#/blank#} （job） to raise some money,  he left home to gain some experience of life in different cultures, visiting America and Asia. What's more, he plans to make the whole journey{#blank#}6{#/blank#}（use） only means of transport which are powered by natural energy. In other words, he'll be relying{#blank#}7{#/blank#}（main） on bicycles and his own legs; and when there's an ocean to cross, he won't be taking a shortcut（捷径）{#blank#}8{#/blank#}flying aboard﹣he'll be joining the crew of a sailing ship, instead.

    As well as doing some mountain climbing along {#blank#}9{#/blank#}way, Nigel hopes to pass on to the people he meets the environmental message {#blank#}10{#/blank#}lies behind the whole idea.

    Students at a primary school in Hangzhou had their first class{#blank#}1{#/blank#}March 1st on movable type. This is{#blank#}2{#/blank#} ancient Chinese printing system.

    The West Lake Primary School in Zhejiang Province introduced the course at the beginning of this new term. So far, the school{#blank#}3{#/blank#}(invite) an expert in Chinese characters culture to the campus,{#blank#}4{#/blank#}major responsibility is to teach students how to use the ancient printing technology. Students attend lectures on the history of movable type along with {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(interest) classes on typesetting and printing. They then print their own document, {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(apply) the knowledge they've learned. One student printed her{#blank#}7{#/blank#}(new) written essay "Whether the traditional red envelopes kids receive belong to them or their parents?"{#blank#}8{#/blank#}(know) as one of the four great inventions of ancient China, movable type printing {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(invent) by Bi Sheng in the 1040s during the Song  Dynasty, and it is the world's first system of movable type printing.

    The school said the course is aimed at improving the students' awareness of Chinese characters and their {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(appreciate) of Chinese culture.
