"Mozambique had long
planned to build a bridge linking the north and south of the bay, but nothing
came of them because {#blank#}5{#/blank#} a lack of money and technology," said Wang Lijun, vicepresident
of China Road and Bridge Corporation (公司), which built {#blank#}6{#/blank#} bridge.
The MaputoKatembe
Bridge, {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(open) in November
after four years of construction, is part of the Maputo Bridge and Link Roads
project which {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(build) by CRBC.
It {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(be) 187 kilometers long
and serves as an important highway that directly links Maputo to the border
with South Africa, to the south.
"By night, when the lights
are on, it's {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(especial)
impressive," Wang said, and as a landmark it could help develop tourism
and attract overseas investment for Mozambique.
