What do you do when you were born with only two fingers on each hand and your legs were amputated (截肢) at the knees when you were three? Lee Hee-ah1 that in her life. And her legs 2 at her knees. When Lee was born, doctors told her mother Woo Kap-sun that her child wasn't3. But Woo was determined her daughter would4 a successful life.

    When Lee was old enough to go to school, her mother decided that she wanted her daughter to take5 lessons. She felt it would help her6 hands because playing piano could make them stronger. In addition, she felt that7 she could master the piano, she could master8. But for six months, piano schools 9 them down. Then the teacher who did accept the task got10 and wanted to quit.

    It became a 11of wills between the mother and the daughter that led to a 12 in which Woo actually threw her daughter on the floor in 13 Lee got back to the piano bench and for the first time played the children's song she had been trying to learn. That was the14point and one year later Lee15 the prize in a piano concert for kindergarteners. It was at age 7 that :Lee won Korea's 19th National Handicap Conquest Contest and was16 with her award by the President of Korea. Today Lee, 22, has won numerous awards, and is a 17 traveled concert pianist with more than 200 appearances.  Lee thanked her18 for challenging her to master the piano and said that although her training was 19 as time went by, the piano had became her 20 of inspiration and her best friend.     One of the most exciting archaeological discoveries(考古发现) in history was made in November 1922, when Howard Carter was1 in the Valley of the Kings in Egypt. After many months of digging, he finally2 an unknown grave.

    Whenever my kids have a party at school, I am the mom who always signs up to bring the juice boxes. It's not because I'm 1 or that I don't care if my kids have a good party.     In my whole life I've been interested in martial arts. But it was only when I1in another city New York where there was a kung fu club that I really enjoyed it and fully2why they call it an art. It is fighting and3yourself，but it's also understanding your body more，making it4and healthier. Kung fu is a big 5of Chinese culture. I have always watched kung fu movies（who doesn't know Bruce Lee，Jackie Chan or Jet Li？）, because I loved their6.When I started to practice kung fu, I realized how7it was and a simple kick demanded months of practice. But I loved it！A whole new world was opening to me.

    After I8four years of kung fu in New York，I wanted to go to the9 where this martial art originated from. I went to China with a travel organization. It was a trip that10some kung fu and tai chi lessons. It was a（n）11 group，so there were people from all over the world. We went from Hong Kong to Guilin, Yangshuo, Xi'an, Luoyang and Shaolin and 12Beijing. We did two kung fu lessons in Yangshuo with the brothers Gao, who had a family style which was 13 Bu Di Zhen. We did one tai chi lesson in Xi' an and two14 kung fu lessons in Shaolin.I was15by Yangshuo and the Gao brothers. Yangshuo is a(n)16 town in the middle of mountains and near the Li river.     The next year my dream 19: I went to China again, together with some friends of my kung fu club. We 20one month in Yangshuo, just to practice kung fu, which made me understand more of Chinese rich culture.

On her 71st birthday in July, Sajean Geer went to spread her husband's ashes near Obstruction Point, inside Olympic National Park.

When she finished, she realised she had got 1 . Geer became worried. Though an experienced hiker, she wasn't prepared to be in the park for such a(n) 2 period of time. She only had her 3 

with her. She had a cellphone, but there is no signal. And worst of all, she hadn't told anyone where she was going because she hadn't 4 to be gone for long. 

She spent that first day trying to 5 her way out of the park but was unsuccessful. Geer remembered the knowledge she'd picked up from several outdoor survival books. One key tip 6 her:it's important to have a positive mental 7 and a fighting spirit that you're going to live through this.
