China, which takes pride in inventions in ancient times, has once again shown its{#blank#}1{#/blank#}(able) to change the world with its “new four great inventions”: high-speed railways, electronic payments, shared bicycles and online shopping. The “new four great inventions” are all related{#blank#}2{#/blank#}China's high-tech innovation(创新){#blank#}3{#/blank#}improved the quality of people's lives. “My wallet is no longer in use. I can buy and eat{#blank#}4{#/blank#}I want simply with a tap of my phone,” said Lin Jinlong{#blank#}5{#/blank#}overseas Chinese student from Cambodia{#blank#}6{#/blank#}(add) that “even pancake sellers are using Alipay (mobile payment).     The bikes themselves are not new, but the operating model of bike-sharing is based on satellite navigation system, mobile payment, big data and other high technologies. It is{#blank#}8{#/blank#}(increase) clear that China is innovating and no longer copying Western ideas. This is partly because China skipped over the PC age and went directly to mobile. China has the{#blank#}9{#/blank#}(large) mobile use in the world.

    In terms of the “new four great inventions”, Charlie Dai, principal analyst of American market research company Forrester, said, “These products and services{#blank#}10{#/blank#}(improve) customer experience so far, improving national and global economy at the same time”.

    Nearly 610,000 Chinese students attended schools and colleges overseas in 2017. China remains the world's {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (large) supplier of international students. A majority{#blank#}2{#/blank#}the students went to European and North American countries. Countries{#blank#}3{#/blank#} (include) in the Belt and Road Initiative (B&R) became new destinations, with student numbers {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (rise) by 15.7 percent in 2017. At the same time, about 480,000 graduates returned to China. Since 1978, about 5.2 million Chinese{#blank#}5{#/blank#} (study) abroad and among those {#blank#}6{#/blank#} graduated about 83.7 percent returned to China.

    Meanwhile, a total of 490,000{#blank#}7{#/blank#} (foreign) from 204 countries and regions studied in China is 2017. Students from the Republic of Korea, Thailand and Pakistan were the most numerous, while the United States ranked {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (four). Students from B&R countries accounted for 64.9 percent of{#blank#}9{#/blank#} total. About 59,000 international students in China {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(support) by Chinese government scholarships.

    China's industrial output is expected to rise by around 6.5 percent this year, marking the best {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (perform) since 2010, {#blank#}2{#/blank#} the Made in China 2025 strategy (策略) helps to raise productivity and revenue (税收).

    According to Miao, the country will also publish policies {#blank#}9{#/blank#} promoting the development of digital economy. The data show that the country's digital economy added up to 22.58 trillion yuan last year, ranking second {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (global) and accounting for around 30 percent of national GDP.

    On arriving in the United States, I felt everything was different. There were many new things I had to adapt to. One thing that really {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (take) me a long time to adapt to was speaking the language.

    I felt depressed because I couldn't understand {#blank#}6{#/blank#} people were saying even though I studied hard. However, I still kept {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (try) and never gave up.

    Now, I can tell you that I have improved a lot, but sometimes it is still easy for me to get {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (lose) if I don't know what topic people {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (talk) about. To adapt to this new language, I had to tell {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (I) that I could do it. I really believe I can!
