Most students do an IQ test early in their school career. Even if they never see their results, they feel that their IQ is  determines how well they are going to do in life. When they see other students doing(good)than them, they usually believe that those students have  higher IQ and that there is nothing they can do  (change) facts. However, new research into EQ suggests that success is not(simple) the result of a high IQ.

While your IQ tells you how (intelligence) you are, your EQ tells you how well you use your intelligence. Professor Salovery, who  (invent) the term EQ, gives the following description: At work, it is IQ  gets you promoted. Supported by his academic research, Professor Salovery suggests that when (predict) someone's future success, their character, is measured by EQ tests, might actually matter more than their IQ.

Creating good habits can be as tough as breaking bad habits. From my experience, one of the most important factors {#blank#}1{#/blank#} make forming a new habit hard is that a lot of willpower {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (require), at least in the beginning, and that alone can prevent many people correctly developing their desired habits.

Now instead of just using willpower and reminding {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (you) to start the new habit each day, why don't you just link it to an existing one? I have done {#blank#}4{#/blank#} experience. It started with just 20 pushups (俯卧撑), something easy. So before I showered each day, I would do the pushups. {#blank#}5{#/blank#} a couple of days, I increased the amount just to make it a bit more challenging.

Gradually, over the course of about 3 months, I'm now doing 100 pushups. And as the habit grew stronger, it got easier to do so {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (natural). Now I know the habit is pretty much ingrained (根深蒂固), for I feel like something is missing {#blank#}7{#/blank#} I don't do this before showering. I found it pretty easy {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (create) this habit and not much willpower was involved.

I think the key, apart from using an {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (exist) habit, is to start out with something really easy. Once that starts becoming part of your {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (day) routine, add on to it.

阅读下面材料,在空白处填入适当的内容(不多于3个单词)或括号内单词的正确形式。

Mattie celebrated her 6th birthday earlier this month. For her birthday, she wanted to do something for other children.

“We {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (talk) about Mattie's birthday cake when she said that she wanted a big one so no one was hungry at her party,” her mother said. “She didn't want anyone to be hungry and she got big tears in her eyes and asked if we could donate food {#blank#}2{#/blank#} people.”

For her party, Mattie's friends arrived {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (quick) with gifts, but the packages weren't filled with toys, instead {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (can) and boxes of food. Once her party was over, Mattie, with some help, took {#blank#}5{#/blank#} donations of food to the Maryville Ministry Center.

Mattie was not the only local child {#blank#}6{#/blank#} recently did so. Her best friend Eliana celebrated her 5th birthday in February and decided that she wanted to give back as well.

Mattie and Eliana are still children, though, and enjoy {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (play) with their dolls and stuffed animals just like every other kid does.

“For being so young, it's a blessing {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (have) kids that are living for something more than themselves,” Wall said. “I'm pretty {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (hope) that it will continue over time and it's amazing to see {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (we) kids doing things for others.”
