Anna comes from Russia俄国, She is 17 years old. She's going to stay with the Black family for a year. Anna comes to England because she wants to study English. She helps Mrs. Black {#blank#}1{#/blank#} housework and goes to English class every Wednesday and Friday afternoon.

    Anna is now in London. Everything is{#blank#}2{#/blank#} to her. She finds life is 8{#blank#}3{#/blank#}from that in Moscow. Some things are nice in London, but many things are not so nice.  The restaurants are {#blank#}4{#/blank#} in London than those in Moscow. So it's very difficult to enjoy{#blank#}5{#/blank#}meals in London. It's expensive to have a meal in a restaurant.

Katie: How was the welcome party for foreign students last night？

John: Great! I made some new friends. But a funny thing {#blank#}1{#/blank#}.

Katie: What？

John: I met a Japanese boy{#blank#}2{#/blank#}Sato, and as soon as held out my hand, he bowed.

Katie: That's how people in Japan are expected to greet each other. It's {#blank#}3{#/blank#} if you don't bow.

John: I didn't know that. So I just stood there with my hand out. {#blank#}4{#/blank#}, I returned the bow.

Katie: I remember when I first met Marie last year, I did the same thing. I held out my hand and to my surprise, she kissed me on both {#blank#}5{#/blank#}of my face!

John: I wouldn't mind that!

Katie: Very funny. Later I found out French people are supposed to kiss when they see each other.
