One a snowy evening, a rich lady was standing by the road. She was very worried. Her{#blank#}1{#/blank#} had broken down. Just then a poor man named Robert came. He was on his way back home from work as usual.

After forty minutes, the car was at last fixed by Robert. The lady wanted to pay him.

If you really want to pay me back, I hope you {#blank#}4{#/blank#} see someone in trouble, please give him a hand.” A few minutes later, the lady saw a shabby house by the road. She {#blank#}5{#/blank#} Robert's words, so she stopped. The hostess warmly asked her in. The lady could see that was a {#blank#}6{#/blank#} family and they needed help. When the hostess was making tea in the kitchen, the lady {#blank#}7{#/blank#} 500 dollars on the table and went away quietly. Robert came home later than before, thinking how hard their life was. Their {#blank#}8{#/blank#} was to be born the next month but there wasn't {#blank#}9{#/blank#} money. His wife went up to him, gave him a kiss and said softly, “Don't worry, dear! Everything's going to be all right. A stranger has helped us out. ”

    A few years ago, a little boy, not more than eight years old, went to the store himself.

    The little boy's mother taught him to be {#blank#}3{#/blank#} and friendly. However, when the little boy asked his mother {#blank#}4{#/blank#} he would let the dog come into the house or not, she hesitated (犹豫)."We have no room for it," said she.     His mother was actually kind, too. She did not drive the poor hungry dog away, but let it {#blank#}7{#/blank#} in the yard. The little boy gave the dog some {#blank#}8{#/blank#}, water and clean dry grass to lie on. They also made it clean.

    After a few days the dog was {#blank#}9{#/blank#} with the help of the boy and his mother. It began to show how happy and thankful it was. Because {#blank#}10{#/blank#} their kindness, the dog finally found a home. It did what a dog could do to be a helpful family member.
