The giant panda {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (love) by people throughout the world. Chinese scientists{#blank#}2{#/blank#} (recent) had a chance to study a wild female panda with a newborn baby. She was a very {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (care) mother. For 25 days, she never left her baby, not even to find something {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (eat)! She would not let any other pandas come near. She licked the baby constantly to keep it clean. Any smell might attract dangerous {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (animal) that would try to eat the little comforting pats. The mother held the baby in her front paws much the way a human does.  {#blank#}6{#/blank#} it cried, she rocked it back and forth and gave it little comforting pats. The mother continued to care for the young panda {#blank#}7{#/blank#} more than two years. By that time, the panda no longer needed {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (it) mother for food. However, it stayed with her and learned about the ways of the forest. Then, after two and a half years, the mother {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (drive) the young panda away . It was time for her to have a new baby, {#blank#}10{#/blank#} it was also time for the young panda to be independent.

    One day a rich man took his sons on a trip to the countryside. He wanted to show them how the poor lived so that they could be thankful {#blank#}1{#/blank#} his wealth through hard work.

    They spent a couple of {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (day) on the farm of what would be considered a poor family.

    On their return, the father asked the elderly boy{#blank#}3{#/blank#} (explain) what he had learnt. To his surprise, the boy, who had kept {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (silence) and deep in thought on the journey home, {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (reply) in a way that shocked his father.

    “I want to become a farmer,{#blank#}6{#/blank#} the farmers can enjoy the beautiful night stars while we have only expensive lanterns.” Finally, he asked his father, "What makes us safer, large walls around our house or some friends {#blank#}7{#/blank#} will protect us?"

    After a while, the boy finished by saying, "Before the trip I thought we {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (be) rich but today I learnt who is {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(true) rich." With this, the boy got up and walked away,{#blank#}10{#/blank#} (leave) his father sitting on their comfortable sofa, totally speechless.

    When you are thirsty, you can drink some green tea. It tastes good and it's very healthy. The Chinese {#blank#}1{#/blank#} （know）about the benefits of green tea since ancient times, and they use {#blank#}2{#/blank#} to treat everything from headaches to depression. They have {#blank#}3{#/blank#}（actual）been using green tea as a medicine for over 4,000 years.

    Nowadays, there is scientific evidence of the health benefits of green tea. According to one study {#blank#}4{#/blank#} （publish）in a cancer research journal, drinking green tea {#blank#}5{#/blank#}（reduce）the risk of some types of cancer {#blank#}6{#/blank#} nearly sixty percent. USA researchers have also found that green tea may prevent the{#blank#}7{#/blank#}（grow）of cancer cells. There is also new evidence {#blank#}8{#/blank#}green tea can help to destroy bacteria in our bodies. It is especially effective at getting rid of the bacteria on your {#blank#}9{#/blank#}（tooth）and keep them healthy!

    According to the Chinese proverb, “It is {#blank#}10{#/blank#}（good）to go without food for three days than without tea for one.” So, in brief, you should definitely try a cup of green tea. It seems that it can only do you good.

    National Love Our Children Day began in America in 2004. It {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (fall) on the first Saturday in April. {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (it) aim is to honor and celebrate America's children and stress the {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (important) of love as they grow up. It is also intended to promote the relationship of family members and raise awareness of the need to protect children {#blank#}4{#/blank#} the harmful side of society. Some people may argue that every day should be Love Our Children Day. However, there are millions of other children {#blank#}5{#/blank#} are less fortunate and grow up without a loving childhood. Healthy and happy children provide the basis for a safe society for future generations when they become {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (parent).

    National Love Our Children Day {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (start) by the organization Love Our Children USA nearly 15 years ago. It helps to organize events across America to make children feel {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(delight). Their website advises us {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (spend) the day with the children and do something special together or buy them something they've been dreaming for {#blank#}10{#/blank#} long time. Former mayor of New York City, Michael Bloomberg, also said, "All of our children deserve the love, encouragement and respect which they need to reach their full potential today and every day of the year."
