During our daily life, we are often faced {#blank#}1{#/blank#} problems that simply turn out {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(be) more difficult than {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(expect), and this, in turn, causes great negative feelings. However, most difficult {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(experience) will become {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(value) lessons,{#blank#}6{#/blank#} can help us prevent future mistakes. Besides, the tough situations {#blank#}7{#/blank#}we can see ourselves differently offer us an opportunity to achieve self-promotion, and they also make {#blank#}8{#/blank#}easier for us to get through hard times in the future.

    As long as we have {#blank#}9{#/blank#}strong will, the temporary difficulties {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(overcome) and we can live through them with a better preparation for the future.

    Joris Hutchison, 10 years old, of Seattle, has worked hard all year to save cheetahs（猎豹）from the very real threat of extinction. He has raised more than $14,000 to purchase GPS devices, {#blank#}1{#/blank#} follow and protect the animals. He earns money by selling lemonade, flowers and T-shirts, and by {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(organize) skating parties and a garage sale. What moved the public {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(be) that Joris donated all that he raised to a wildlife conservation organization and shelter in Namibia where he and his mother have volunteered for {#blank#}4{#/blank#} past three summers.

    As the group's {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(young) of all the volunteers, Joris prepares food, cleans enclosures（围场）, and creates improvement {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(item) for the cheetahs that live there, all of whom {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(injure) or raised by human beings in the past. The shelter protects cheetahs in the wild by convincing farmers not {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(shoot) the animals and instead, to allow the ones accused {#blank#}9{#/blank#} killing farm animals to be fixed with GPS devices. “I've learned that everyone can make a {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(different), even if you're just a kid!” Joris told Gloria Barron Prize for Young Heroes. “You just have to start somewhere.”

Trees, plants and flowers are all around us and we enjoy their beauty every day. However, we are so used to them {#blank#}1{#/blank#} we may even take them for granted without {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(realize) how much inspiration they have given us. In fact, nature has inspired many of the most {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(fascinate) designs around us, including those in architecture. Today, architects continue to explore ways {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (capture) the beauty of natural forms, to mimic the way nature works or even to make natural organisms part of a building. ArtScience Museum, Singapore was designed to show the {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (connect) between nature and the modern city environment in which it sits. Visitors are often amazed to find themselves in an urban building that so {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(true) captures the beauty of natural forms. Harare's Eastgate Centre is {#blank#}8{#/blank#} superb example of biomimicry (仿生学). To use biomimicry is to create structures {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(base) on natural forms and processes. Creating buildings such as these enables us to live {#blank#}10{#/blank#} closer harmony with our environment.

Emperor penguins (企鹅) are{#blank#}1{#/blank#}(large) penguins on Earth. Each adult is over a meter tall and weighs up to 40 kilos. Every year in May, mother penguins lay eggs on the coast. Then they will go back to the ocean{#blank#}2{#/blank#}(find) food while the father penguins stay and look after the eggs for the next two months. During this time, {#blank#}3{#/blank#}eating any food, a father penguin can lose half of his body weight. By August, the mothers return just in time to see their babies come out of eggs.
