We are students from Thailand,and we decide{#blank#}1{#/blank#}(save) elephants. The elephant is one of Thailand's{#blank#}2{#/blank#}(symbol). Our first flag had a white elephant{#blank#}3{#/blank#}it. This is a symbol of luck. Elephants are smart animals. It is easy for them to play soccer{#blank#}4{#/blank#}music. They can also draw very{#blank#}5{#/blank#}(good). In addition, they are strong enough to carry a lot of things for people. People say that an elephant never{#blank#}6{#/blank#}(forget). They can walk for a long time and never get{#blank#}7{#/blank#}(lose). They can also remember places with food and water. This helps them to live. But now elephants are in great{#blank#}8{#/blank#}(dangerous). People cut down many trees, so elephants are losing their homes. People also kill{#blank#}9{#/blank#}(they) for their ivory.Today there are only about 3,000 elephants. It is necessary for us to try our best to save the trees and not to buy things that{#blank#}10{#/blank#}(make) of ivory. It is important to remember that March 13th is Thai Elephant Day.

    There was no rain for six months in Liguan Village, about 60 km away from Kunming. The fields were so dry {#blank#}1{#/blank#}lots of plants were dead. The villagers didn't have water {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(drink), to cook food or to water crops(庄稼). Most of the villagers live on rice, corn and vegetables that they grow by {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(them). Without water, their crops couldn't grow well. And they didn't have enough food to eat.

    Every morning, the villagers got up early and ran to the centre of the village {#blank#}4{#/blank#}two plastic buckets(塑料桶). More than 4, 000 thirsty villagers stood behind a fire truck {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(wait) for the water.

    Every family got two or three buckets of water every day. They used it for drinking, washing and {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(cook). If one family saved a little water every day, then the family could have a shower{#blank#}7{#/blank#}(one) a week.

    The government tried to help villagers look {#blank#}8{#/blank#}water. They were going to dig(挖) {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(hundred) of new wells. Volunteers from all over the country collected money, food and water for villagers. Above all, the most important way {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(protect) underground water and prevent drought(干旱) is to plant trees.
