Although I {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (grow) up not in the South, but in northern Wisconsin, there are memories that are{#blank#}2{#/blank#} same. We can all think about the past if those memories give {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (we) the strength to live today. Though today is a present and a gift, the {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (memory) of our families give us the strength to appreciate this "present". Those memories of my childhood home, across the street from Grandpa and Grandma's home, bring memories of{#blank#}5{#/blank#} (eat) ice cream cones and swinging on the front porch swing and singing country songs  {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (happy). There are memories of my dad reading the newspaper and mom, wearing her apron and making doughnuts in the kitchen. Pictures of the family all around are just like I have today in my home. My dad was a quiet man,{#blank#}7{#/blank#} never bought or borrowed anything unless he could afford it. My aunt lived in the bedroom upstairs and sang Polish and country songs with me. My brother is remembered {#blank#}8{#/blank#} my childhood friend when we played in the backyard. These memories are{#blank#}9{#/blank#} (root) in my heart and run deep. These memories give me {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (strong) to carry on the family values. These memories give me a "common" and "solid" ground in my life.

    Once upon a time, there was a small town. There {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (live) a man by himself who couldn't see. He was blind. Yet, he carried a lighted lamp with him whenever he went out at night.

    One night as he was coming home after having a dinner outside, he came across a group of young {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (travel). They saw that he was blind, yet carrying a lighted lamp. They started passing comments on him and made fun {#blank#}3{#/blank#} him. One of them asked him, "Hey Man! You are blind and can't see anything! Why do you carry the lamp?" The blind man replied, "Yes, {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(unfortunate), I am blind and I can't see anything {#blank#}5{#/blank#} a lighted lamp which I {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (carry) is for the people like you who can see. You may not see the blind man {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (come) and end up pushing me. That is {#blank#}8{#/blank#} I carry a lighted lamp". The group of travelers felt ashamed and apologized for their{#blank#}9{#/blank#}(behave). We should think before judging others. Always be polite and learn {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (see) things from others point of view.

    Football is a popular sport with fans all over the world. There is, however, an indoor version of the game {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (know) as "table football". It was invented in 1921 and people {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (get) great pleasure from it since then. The game is played on a special table. Players control their "team" by turning sticks, to which the "players" are attached. As in real football, {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (point) will be awarded when putting the ball in the other players' goal. Table football requires using hands and eyes together excellently, which is really exciting.

    Should naps(小睡) actually {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (take) during the day? Well, we certainly know from {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (evident) in the sleep center and that of many other scientists that naps can give you benefits for both your brain {#blank#}3{#/blank#} your body. But naps can actually be {#blank#}4{#/blank#} double-edged sword because while we're awake during the day, we're building up sleepiness or sleep pressure. So when you try to fall asleep at night, you'll fall asleep quickly and then you'll stay asleep. And when we sleep, we actually release that sleepiness so that we wake up the next morning feeling {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (refresh).

    So if you take a nap during the day, especially if you take it too late in the afternoon, you will actually release some of that sleepiness and it will make it much {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (hard) to fall asleep and stay asleep soundly throughout the night. So the advice would be if you don't struggle with your sleep and you can nap{#blank#}7{#/blank#} (regular), then naps are just fine.

    But if you do find it difficult {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (fall) asleep or stay asleep at night, then you should avoid naps and try to build up that healthy sleepiness in the evening.

    The ideal nap depends on {#blank#}9{#/blank#} you want from that nap. Different stages of sleep actually give you different types of brain and body  {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (benefit).
