It is Saturday, but I go to school as usual. I go to play football. I am in our school team and we are going to play against another school next week.
The practice starts at 10 a. m. We all arrive as early as we can so that we have time to warm up. We are training harder than usual because the other team beat us last year. This year we want to do better. It is more difficult to practise in winter because the days are short and the weather is cold, too. It gets dark earlier, so it is important not to be late for after-school practice.
Our coach is pleased because we are playing better as a team now. Last year we were sometimes careless when we passed the ball and we lost to the other team in the final match. What a pity! This year we are training more carefully. That means we have a better chance of winning.
The fan club has fewer people this year. We hope to play well so that we have more fans to watch the matches. It is good to have our fans around. They cheer us on loudly and we feel more confident (自信的) to win the game.
How do you look after your cat?
Introduction The first step to becoming a good cat owner (主人) is to choose the right kind of cat. It is how a cat behaves that is the most important, not what she looks like or how old she is. She is going to be your best friend. You will spend a lot of time playing together. But remember, you need to look after her every day. Not just to start with, but for all her life. Understanding your pet By watching your cat closely, you will learn her special way of talking. From the movement of her tail or ears, you will see if she is happy or sad. And you will soon understand what she is saying when she miaows. Caring for your pet You will only be your cat's best friend if you care for her properly.You will need to make sure that she eats the right foods, always has water, and can get plenty of exercise every day. You will also have to bathe(给……洗澡) her often and spend some time training her. |
Dust storms（沙尘暴） appear when strong wind blows sand and dirt from a dry surface. Strong dust storms may cause deaths, so you should know how to protect yourself from dust storms when you meet them.
Be careful of dust storm warnings | Dust storms probably happen on hot summer days, and it's not safe for people to travel during this period. So you should listen to the local TV or radio before travelling, and consider changing or giving up your trip if dust storms are predicted（预测）. |
Be prepared | If you are in a place where storms happen often, carry a mask（面具） to keep dust and dirt away from your face, and a pair of glasses to protect your eyes. |
Stay inside | Do not move around when a dust storm comes, as you will not be able to see hidden（隐藏） dangers. So if you are in a house, don't go out and just stay inside. |
Protect yourself from flying objects | Cover your body as much as possible in a dust storm. A strong wind of dust storms can carry heavy objects, so you should try to stay low, and close to the ground, and protect your head with your arms or a backpack. |
