At the stage of puberty, I am going to make myself better.

Personally, there is nothing I love more than asking "stupid" questions, especially the ones that have no right answers. I remember once asking some kids what time it was, at home, in Singapore, and finally on the Moon. After a long silence, finally a shy girl ventured (试探地说) to say that it was "every time" followed by an energetic Einstein who shouted it was "no time". Both kids shared that week's Noble Prize because no humans live in that faraway world and time is created by humans.

As a matter of fact, we are all good at asking questions by nature, but sadly as we age, we get used to the world around us and take things for granted. We became more results-oriented (注重结果的) and concentrate our efforts on success. If something is working, don't fix it or worry about the cause; just relax and go with the flow. Common belief may work well, but that does not mean it is always right. Throughout history, it has been those who have questioned common belief and those who have challenged our common-sense ideas of the world that have been the ones to have brought about major progress in human civilization.

In 500 BC, the ancient Greeks wondered whether the Earth was round because sailors on the sea had noticed that the farther south they went, the more different stars they saw in the sky. Why was the sky changing? Nearly 2,000 years later, the Italian astronomer Galileo Galilei became interested in this question and ended up demonstrating the "crazy" concept of heliocentrism (日心说), in which the Sun lies at the center of the universe while the Earth circles around it at 30 kilometers per second. But if the Earth is spinning around so quickly, why aren't we being thrown off of the surface of the planet? The answer to this question would not be clear for another century.

People like routine, but past performance is no guarantee of future results. While those who challenge common belief tend to be subjected to abuse, the progress of humankind would have otherwise been impossible without these persistent people and their "stupid" questions.

Circles can be found everywhere in the natural world, but with no exact way to measure (测量) thc. They are very mysterious (神秘的) and might never be completely understood. When you take the distance around a circle and divide it by the distance across a circle, you will always get Pi. While Pi is about 3. 14 when round ed, it is endlessly long. With the help of computers, mathematicians (数学家) have been able to work Pi out to over a trillion decimal places (小数点后万亿位). This makes Pi mysterious, even to the most famous mathematicians.

Pi Day is celebrated on March 14, since the way we write this date, 3/14, looks just like Pi when rounded. In 2009, U.S. Congress voted to formally make March 14 Pi Day. Certain parts of the world — places where March 14 is written as 14/3 — will instead celebrate Pi Approximation Day which takes place on July 22nd because of the division (除法) result of 22/7.

Pi has appeared in movies, comics, music, and more. "In modern movies, any time the filmmaker wants to create a sense of mystery, the  symbol Pi is used," says Blatner. People also love working to remember the digits ( 数 位 ) of Pi and competing against  others to  see who can remember most. The Guinness World Record for remembering the most digits  of Pi is  held by  Lu  Chao  of China, who successfully remembered Pi to nearly 67,000 decimal places.

Above all, Pi Day is about having fun with the number, according to Blatner. People will celebrate Pi Day by eating pie and throwing pie, and with fun Pi-related games. Princeton, New Jersey holds a series of Pi-related festivities. Events this year include a surprise birthday party for Albert Einstein whose birthday also falls on March 14, and a "Walk a Pi Event" where participants will walk 3. 14 miles together. Just like the number itself, the possibilities for Pi Day are truly endless.

As we all know, there are many delicious and popular dishes in China. But do you know that almost every dish has its own story? Let's enjoy some stories of the dishes in Sichuan.

Shredded pork with garlic sauce 鱼香肉丝

Does this dish have anything to do with fish? In fact, yuxiang is a traditional seasoning (调味料) in Sichuan. It is said that a woman was good at cooking fish. One day, when she was cooking pork, she made a mistake. She used the seasoning for fish on her pork. Surprisingly, it tasted great!

There are different stories about this dish. One says that the dish came about by accident. A man in Sichuan boiled some pork to remember his ancestors (祖先). After the ceremony (仪式), his family would like to eat the pork. He wanted to make it more delicious, so he stir-fried the pork and added salt, sauce and garlic. Later many people started to cook pork this way.

Kung Pao chicken 宫保鸡丁

People believe that the dish was named after Ding Baozhen（1820-1886）. He was an officer during the Qing Dynasty. He liked chicken that was stir-fried with chili and peanuts. And as his title was gongbao, people named the dish Kung Pao chicken.

Hello, everyone. Because of the high rate of school violence (暴力), teenagers' safety (安全) becomes a serious problem. We are planning to set up an organization named School Watch to make sure that students have a safe school environment. Please be part of our plan!

What is School Watch? School Watch is a volunteer organization in our school. It helps us stop violence. It will keep yourself and your schoolmates safe. The other members of School Watch care for you and your classroom. And you do the same for them.

Is it for everyone? Anybody can become a member of School Watch because everyone has something to offer.

What else can it do? School Watch makes it possible for us not only to help each other but also to make friends with each other. Some members may offer to help schoolmates who have problems with their homework.

Who is the Best School Watcher? Our school will look for the Best School Watcher and give him or her lots of prizes. You could be the one.

When Zeki Basan was 16, he lived in a tent for almost a year on the island of Skye in Scotland. It can seem unusual for someone to live like that, especially if you are a teenager, but it wasn't for him. He was on a course at the School of Adventure Studies, and thought it was good to learn how to live away from the city while he was studying. The fact that some of his best memories were of growing up in the mountains in the Highlands with his mother and sister probably helped him make this decision. They used to live far away from any towns and even had to use cross-country skis(滑雪板) to take food there every winter.

Zeki experienced a few difficult situations while he was learning how to live alone in the tent. Once he was in the mountains when the weather got really bad while he was hiking. It was impossible to see very far in front of him, but he knew to stay calm and not panic (恐慌). That ability was also really useful when he was on a camping trip with his classmates and the weather was terrible. Some people were extremely tired and anxious and had to leave, but it wasn't a problem for him.

Zeki doesn't live in a tent anymore, but would like to see more people living the way that he did, so close to nature, for a short period of time. He says:"People don't really know their environment... they don't tend to explore it. But to really know your own environment... is quite an incredible thing." He feels that if people connect more with nature, they will understand and enjoy it. Zeki continues to enjoy the outdoors and to use his skills in his life now as a young adult - he works in Iceland as a guide, and in Scotland as a survival(生存) skills instructor.
