As a country with a history of over 5,000 years, China is the home of tea. Last summer, I took a trip to Huangshan Mountain in Anhui, China with my parents. I will never 1 the Chinese tea culture there.

On a sunny afternoon, we arrived at the foot of the mountain, tired 2 excited. After a short rest, the 3 took us to a big farm and we learned about tea processing there. He told us that Sheng Nong found out 4 as a drink in old times. In the evening, we paid a visit to a tea house. We watched a tea art show and 5 the local（当地的）green tea. We saw a young woman in a beautiful Chinese dress showed us 6 a cup of tea is made with tea sets. We really enjoyed it and 7 ourselves when we were listening to the traditional folk music. We are sure that the 8 are the ones who best understand the nature of tea.

Time went fast there. I learned a lot about tea culture 9 . Through this journey, I knew something new about the country. I am 10 to the next trip to China!

Bryan ran home." Dad! Look!" he called excitedly."I found the cutest pet in the river! I named him Hoppy."

Dad had a closer look," Oh, a frog! How handsome!"

" Do you think Hoppy will like it here?"

" Why don't you keep him for a while, and then we' ll see how he's going."

Bryan found a shoebox. Using a pen, he poked(戳) air holes in the top of the box." Welcome to your new home. In you go, Hoppy."

" Are you hungry?" Bryan asked. He lifted his frog out of the box and put some sandwich pieces in front of him." Eat up, Hoppy." Bryan watched... But Hoppy didn't eat. Bryan waited... Hoppy just sat and stared (瞪眼看)." Don't you like sandwiches?"

Bryan put Hoppy back in the box."I think Hoppy's tired. I'm going to make him a comfortable bed." Bryan cut the old newspapers into pieces and put them into the box. He put Hoppy on his new bed." Are you cozy now? I' ll tell a story to help you sleep." When the story was over, Hoppy was still awake.

" Can't you sleep? Why?" Bryan asked. Hoppy just sat… and stared. Bryan didn't know what to do and sat thinking.

" How are you getting along?" Dad asked.

Bryan cried," Hoppy doesn't want to eat or sleep."

" Think about what he really needs."

A little later, Bry an ran into the house looking for his dad." Whoa!" said Dad." What's the hurry? And where's Hoppy?"

"I took him back to the river," Bryan said." He was sure glad to be home! When I put Hoppy down, he jumped into the river, caught a fly and ate it. Then, guess what!"

" What?"

Bryan laughed." Just before Hoppy jumped into the water, I think I saw him smile at me."

My dad was a fisherman. He had a boat, but it was 1 to make a living(谋生) on the sea. It was dangerous, too. He worked very hard and stayed out day and night to catch enough 2 and sell them to make money for the family. 

When the 3 was bad, my father didn't work. He would drive 4 to school and we talked a lot on the way. Before he left, he would give me a big 5 on my face. It was so embarrassing(尴尬的) for me. 

I still 6 the day. When I was 12 years old, I thought I was too 7 for a goodbye kiss. We talked as usual, got to school and came to a stop. He had his usual big smile on his face and started to kiss me,8 I put my hand up and said, "No, Dad. "It was the 9 time that I talked to him in that way. 

I said, "Dad, I'm too old for a goodbye kiss. "My dad looked at me 10 for a long time. I never saw him 11 before. But he really cried at that time. I sat there without 12 what to say. Then he said, " You are right. You are a big boy... a 13 . I won't kiss you any more. "

One day, my dad went to the sea and never 14 . I felt so sad. I 15 one more kiss from him. But I couldn't get any forever. 

Today is Saturday. It's half past seven in the evening. Rick is in the living room reading a book. He is reading the story of a young man called Yang Zhiyang from Baoji, Shaanxi. 

Yang Zhiyang is 23 years old. His mum has ALS(渐冻症) and she has difficulty speaking and walking. Yang's father has to work to make money for the family. So Yang doesn't go to work. He has to take care of(照顾) his mum at home. 

To take good care of his mother, Yang looks at her eyes very often. When his mother wants to sleep, she looks at her room. Then, Yang takes her to the bedroom. When she wants to drink water, she looks at the water cup on the table. Then, Yang gets water for her. It's important for people with ALS to do exercise. Yang always takes his mother's hands and does exercise with her. To make it fun, Yang often sings to her. 

Taking care of the mother with ALS is not easy, but Yang says, "She is my mother. I'm just doing what a son needs to do. I want to do my best to help her live happily. "

There is a park near my home. But I don't go there very often. One afternoon, I went into the 1  and found it was very small. In the park there were two 2 ways. One was wide and clean, there were lots of beautiful3 on both sides, but the other was narrow and dirty, wild grass grew everywhere. I stood there for a while, at last I decided to follow the dirty way.

Ah! There was a small4 there. It was the most beautiful garden I had ever seen. There were trees and flowers. Some clean and comfortable chairs were under the trees. I thought it was the 5 place of the park.

Many people6 me that there was nothing to see in the park. Now I would love to tell them if they follow the right way, they can feel the 7 . But each time I tell them, they just smile at me without 8 . I know they don't believe me. My trip to the park that day made me understand 9 about life. In our life, we always have to make a decision. Don't be 10 to choose a different way. Be brave. You may get a big surprise!

If there was an empty lot (一块空地) in your neighborhood (街区), what would you want to turn it into? My classmates and I have turned such an empty lot into a place of hope.

The empty lot in our neighborhood was full of wild grass. As a project for our geography class, we wanted to change the lot. We hoped it could become a place to improve (改善) people's mental (心理的) health.

After weeks of designing, researching and making models (模型), we began our plans. Now the lot is a different place. There is a wood walkway with purple benches (长椅). Kids like the relaxing color, and they come to sit together and make friends.  

A few beautiful plants grow in the ground. There is also a bright blue hopscotch (跳房子游戏) board. We make it for a group of 8 to 10 school-aged kids who have no places to play in the neighborhood. And you can see a white wall painting with red words like "Love" and "Peace".

Now, the lot gives the neighborhood hope and beauty. More people love the neighborhood and have great hopes for things of the future.
