Most people have jobs. They go to work nearly every day. Some people are lucky. They have very interesting jobs and they m{#blank#}1{#/blank#}a lot of money. Most people are not so lucky. Either their jobs are not very interesting or they don't make much money. 

The m{#blank#}2{#/blank#} interesting jobs are often very difficult. It takes people a long time to learn how to do them. Doctors study for at least six years after f{#blank#}3{#/blank#} school. Airline pilots study longer. They have to learn to fly small airplanes f{#blank#}4{#/blank#}, and then slowly move up to bigger and bigger airplanes. Most airline pilots are at least 30 years old. 

Some young people have interesting and well-paid jobs. Many successful athletes are young. Football and tennis stars are usually under 35. Older people usually cannot play these 

s{#blank#}5{#/blank#}very well. They cannot move fast enough. Golf, however, is a good sport for older people. Many successful golfers are quite old. 

Most people work until they are 60 or 65 years old. Then they retire (退休) and have a lot of spare time. Some people n{#blank#}6{#/blank#} retire though. These people usually have very interesting jobs. Writers, artists, musicians and actors usually work until they die. Their work is their life. 

For many people, their first plane trip is not very good. The following will help you have a good trip.

The first and most important thing is to be EARLY! Call the airport 4 hours earlier and make sure that the flight (航班) is still on time. Get to the airport 2 hours early. This will give you much time to get your boarding pass (登机证) and pass the security check (安检).

Be sure to take something to chew (咀嚼) when you are in the air. Taking a book with you can help you kill your flight time. You also need to take some special things like glasses or medicine, because you may need them on your trip. Take the ID card and enough money with you. Because you need them when having a trip.

When you get on the plane, make sure that you are in the right seat. Don' t be afraid when the plane is taking off (起飞). Take-off may be a difficult part of your trip. When it is over, you can release (解开) your seat belt (安全带), and you can go to the lavatory (卫生间) if you want.

Dogs are really man's best friends. They have special smell. A new study said that dogs can smell if people are feeling stressed. Teachers at Queen's University, the UK, made the study. They got breath(呼吸) and sweat(汗) from people both before and after doing a hard maths problem. They looked at people's heart rate(心率), blood pressure(血压) and stress feeling in the study. Dogs can smell the differences in breath and sweat from people. Then they can know when people are stressed. 

The finding is wonderful: Dogs found stress in 675 of the 720 people. " They could be 93. 75% right!" Australian News reported. The study's writer Clara Wilson said, " Stress can change people's breath and sweat. Dogs are very good at smelling these changes. " In the study, she also said, " This finding helps us learn that how dogs may know people's feelings. "

This finding shows how special the bond is between people and dogs. The finding also tells us that dogs are very clever. And maybe dogs can help stressed people. 

Have you seen a group of people with their eyes staring at a screen, singing out loud without a care in the world? If so, you have witnessed (见证) a period of karaoke time, and the people are entertaining themselves by singing along to recorded music. You don't hear the words. Instead, the words appear on a screen for the singers to follow and sing the words. This form of entertainment originated (起源) in Japan, and the word karaoke means "empty" (kara) and "orchestra" (oke).

Karaoke was invented in the early 1970s in Kobe, Japan. The inventor was a musician named Daisuke Inoue. One day, a businessman asked him for a recording of his music so that he could sing along to it at a business meeting in another town. The recording was so good that the businessman returned and asked for more songs. This gave Inoue the idea of inventing the first karaoke machine.

In its early days, the karaoke machine was found mainly in hotels and restaurants. Singers performed in front of the other customers. A lot of people loved the idea of singing their favourite songs, but didn't feel comfortable singing in front of strangers; so in the 1980s, the karaoke box was born. This was a private (私人) room where people could sing with their friends without other people hearing them. Eventually, karaoke found its way into people's homes as part of home theatre systems.

As technology advanced, karaoke-based video games were created. By 2003, people could also access karaoke services on their mobile phones. This made it possible for music lovers to burst into (突然开始) song at any time, in any place. In some countries today, karaoke machines are even found in cars and taxis for the entertainment of passengers. Karaoke is definitely here to stay, and it will continue to adapt to our changing lifestyles.
