吉林省舒兰市第一高级中学2017-2018学年高二上学期英语期中考试试卷
Good friends always make life seem so much easier and better.I know that there is absolutely no need to give out definitions of a true friend or list out qualities that are synonymous, since the answers are subjective.
Togetherness
It is one of the most beautiful aspects.Be it one of the dullest days of your life while you are killing time doing absolutely nothing,or be it one of your most memorable moments like your graduation or your birthday, friends are always with you.
Honesty
If you look hideous(难看的)in the dress you bought last week,a true friend will always tell you so!Honesty is needed in any relationship. They are ready to give you a taste of the bitter truth, but they'll help you cope with it! Often, there comes a time when two friends are competing for the same thing,a true friend will never let a competition affect the friendship.
Understanding
Often when you are feeling low or depressed, you will never have to explain it to your friend that you are feeling low.Understanding without words is the perfect level of a good relationship.
Patience
You need to have patience to understand your friend inside out.The mood swings, sign language, codes, etc. Friends are all this and much more. They are a comforting shoulder to lean on,a patient ear to listen to you,and most importantly,a warm and loving hug to embrace you!
A. They are a helping hand.
B. A true friend knows when you are unhappy.
C. No matter what, friends always stick together!
D. True friends are always two steps behind you.
E. True friends never hesitate to speak up their minds.
F. Ask yourself what makes a good friend even if you doubt the ability to one yourself.
G. In our busy lives,at times when we feel down and upset, it is our friends who come through.
A. Good manners always count B. Take time off work for the interview C. Take a little more time at each step D. The filled out application makes the data entry easier E. Count on it, especially in small- to mid-sized organizations F. The purpose of the interview is to determine if you and the organization are a good fit G. Don't blow your chances by behaving rudely to people you believe unimportant |
You've done the right things right. Your materials and certificates made a good impression. You passed the interview phone screening and you've been invited to the company for that important interview. How do you continue to build the relationship with the potential employer that will lead to an eventual job offer?
●{#blank#}1{#/blank#}. Don't expect the potential employer to extend their day by several hours to accommodate your schedule. If you're currently working and looking for a new position, hopefully, you've chosen the most ethical path that your employer knows. A recruiting employer is often willing to interview a good candidate late in the afternoon, but rarely will the interview extend past 6 p. m.
●Make the right, positive impression. Arrive early, dress up for the position for which you are applying and bring an additional resume with references. Remember to treat every person you encounter with dignity and respect. The receptionist is reporting his impressions of you to the HR Director. Be polite as much as possible throughout every interaction you have with the company. Each person is assessing your potential fit within their organization. {#blank#}2{#/blank#}.
●Bring your resume and other needed information, for you will be asked to fill out an application. {#blank#}3{#/blank#}. It also allows the company to obtain your written permission to check your references, employment history, and do criminal background checks, etc. if you are hired.
●Follow up after the interview with a thank you letter, and perhaps a phone call. I received three thank you letters and a couple of phone calls from the 23 people who participated in a first interview with us. {#blank#}4{#/blank#}.
Doing the right things right will result in more interviews, better job offers, and a more successful career. {#blank#}5{#/blank#}, and your application will rise above the pack. I promise.
A. Be friendly to others. B. Making new friends can be hard, too. C. Join after-school activities you like. D. Never change who you are to try and fit in. E. If you see someone you know, smile or say "Hi". F. People may become angry if you just begin by saying "Hey" each time. G. Don't sit at the back of the classroom where other people don't notice you! |
How to make friends at a new school
Starting with a new school can be difficult. Everything seems to be different, and you don't even know where to go for your own classes. {#blank#}1{#/blank#} However, if you use these skills, you can quickly turn some of those strangers into friends.
Be yourself.
{#blank#}2{#/blank#} If some people don't accept you, they're not the kind of friends you need. People often stay together because they have similar interests. For example, someone who does a lot of sport may make friends with those who also run or swim a lot.
{#blank#}3{#/blank#}
Remember to be nice to the people you meet at your new school. If you think that you will say something that may make them feel sad, do not say anything and just nod your head if they talk to you. Also, remember to be as helpful as possible!
Believe in yourself.
A smile goes a long way. When you walk in the halls, don't keep your eyes on the floor. Raise your head and make eye contact (目光接触) with other people. {#blank#}4{#/blank#} Introduce yourself. Tell them your name and where you're from.
Remember people's names.
You like it when people use your name, and so do other people. {#blank#}5{#/blank#} Besides, ask them in a kind way if they have a nickname (昵称). You'd be surprised how often this might come in handy.
