Alan is a cute boy. He often goes to a park with his dad in {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (they) free time.

There is a swimming pool in the park, and Alan often sees many {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (child) there. They swim {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (happy) in summer. He {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (wish) that he can swim in a river or a lake someday. {#blank#}5{#/blank#} he knows that he must learn how to swim in a pool first.

{#blank#}6{#/blank#} the morning of Sunday, while dad is still {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (sleep), Alan wakes him up. Then the boy asks Dad {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (take) him to the park.

"Why do you want to go there? It's so hot today," Dad asks.

"I want to learn swimming," says Alan, "And you can teach me there."

"Oh, I'm sorry. But I can't swim," Dad answers.

"You can't swim? Jack's dad swims very {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (good). Why can't you swim?" Alan feels quite surprised.

"His dad likes eating fish, so he can swim {#blank#}10{#/blank#} a fish," Dad says.

"Oh, I see," says Alan, "But you like eating chicken very much. Can you lay eggs (下蛋)?"

A handwritten letter by a little boy asking Santa for a "very good dad" has captured hearts worldwide.

The boy, known only as "Blake" in the letter, wrote, "Dear Santa, We had to leave our house. Dad was mad. We had to do all the chores. Dad got everything he wanted. Mom said it was time to leave and she would take us to a safer place where we don't have to be scared.

"I'm still nervous. I don't want to talk to the other kids," he continued. "Are you going to come this Christmas? Can you bring a dictionary, and a compass and a watch?"

The most heart-breaking part of the letter was the last line that read, "I also want a very very very good dad. Can you do that too?" 

Officials with SafeHaven of Tarrant County, a group seeking to help end domestic (家庭的) violence（暴力）, posted Blake's letter to its Facebook page. Now, some of the child's wishes have come true. All of the gifts he asked for have been donated by people in the community. Though SafeHaven received more than 10,000 gifts this year, they want to shine a light on the bigger issue of domestic violence.

"To us, it was kind of a story that we've heard all the time," Kathryn Jacob, the organization's president and CEO, told Today. "Like tonight, we have 73 kids in the shelter.""Blake is just one of many."

"What's your favourite sport, Nick?" Ms Green asked. 

Nick thought for a moment. Everyone in the class was looking 1 him. He was nervous. He needed a good 2 . "I like football. "

Everyone smiled. A few people said, "I like3 too!"

That was a4 answer. Nick really liked hockey (冰球), but no one else in class 5 it. He wished he could be honest (诚实的),6 he worried about what they would say. They would say things like, "Hockey? Why? What is that?" They didn't know about it. 

Nick came from Maryland. All the kids there liked hockey. However, in Florida, kids loved football. He didn't really understand7 they didn't like hockey. 

His dad said, "Their families grew up8 football. They like football. We grew up watching hockey, so we like hockey. But why don't you 9 some kids to enjoy the hockey game? We can teach them."

Nick did that. He asked his friends Dave and Tommy. They knew 10 about hockey. They had 11 been to the game before. Dave and Tommy asked Nick lots of 12 about the rules and the teams. They thought the game was13 . All of them had fun. 

The next time Ms Green asked Nick what his favourite 14 was, he said, "Hockey."

Dave and Tommy smiled, "We like hockey too!" Nick was 15 that other people liked the things he liked. It made him feel like he had friends who understood him. 

Everyone knows that exercise is important. We all need to exercise. Doctors say it is good for us. It makes your heart and body strong. Children who often exercise are more alert（灵活）. That means they do better in tests and schoolwork than those who don't exercise. 

They are many ways to exercise. You can walk, run, swim, skate, or play ball games. Make sure you exercise in the following ways: You have to like what you are doing. Exercise enough— but not too much. It's best to exercise twice a week. Thirty minutes each time is enough. Try all kinds of sports until（直到）you find one, two or even three sports that feel right for you. 

You can exercise at fitness centers. They have a lot of equipment（设备）there. The equipment will help exercise your arms, legs and other parts of your body to make you healthy. Some people buy equipment for their homes. But it's very expensive.
