When people stay alone, they feel lonely and bored. What can make people feel less lonely and less bored? According to scientists' study, when people put heart into an activity and enjoy it, they will get a feeling called" flow"(心流) and then it makes them feel happy. But how can people get the feeling of flow? Here are the ways.

First, the activity must be something you are really good at. If you do well in art, playing the piano or painting can lead to flow. Things like skiing, writing and storytelling can, too.

Also, the activity must be something you really enjoy. When you are interested in something, you put your heart into it and enjoy yourself. Then, you get into a state(状态) of flow. When you leave the state of flow, you are often surprised by how much time has passed.

Besides, the activity must have some challenges(挑战). If the activity is too easy, then you may feel bored and" flow" will not appear. For example, watching TV usually doesn't help people get the feeling of flow, because there aren't any challenges.

So, to get a feeling of flow, you should develop a hobby that you like, put your heart in it and practice it, then you will feel less bored and less lonely when staying alone.

Today our class visited the Museum of Natural History. We went to see the 1  show. At first, I wasn't 2  in see ing dinosaur skeletons(恐龙骨骼). Why would anyone want to 3  about something that's not around any more?

First we 4  a big room. I saw the skeleton of a large animal. It almost 5  the room. Two huge, dark holes 6  its head looked at me. It was Dinosaur Sue. 

Our guide told us 7  about Sue. He told us to look at her 8 . Sue had 60 teeth. Her teeth were long and sharp. One tooth looked as 9  as my school ruler. The guide said the dinosaur's teeth showed that she was a meat eater. 

As I looked at it, I wondered 10  the dinosaur had looked like when it was alive. No one knows what 11  dinosaurs were, but I pictured it as brownish grey. I could see it going through the grass and trees searching for food. 

Suddenly I realised that the skeleton had 12  belonged(属于) to a living animal that used to live on the earth. It made me think about other 13 . Then, in some ways, I 14  why people wanted to learn about these animals. 15  would be very exciting to find a dinosaur skeleton. 

Falling leaves and cold wind show the coming of another season. This year, Lidong starts {#blank#}1{#/blank#}

November 7th, It is a Chinese word for one of the 24 solar terms. 

To celebrate Lidong, people have many colorful {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (activity) that light up the cold days. One of the most popular customs（习俗）is to have {#blank#}3{#/blank#}big meal．Eating well helps people have energy to spend the cold {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (snow) days in winter, and prepare for the coming spring. In the north, people enjoy {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (have) dumplings. The Chinese word for dumpling-jiaozi has a similar pronunciation（发音）to the word "change"＿＿ jiao．It {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(mean) celebrating the change of autumn to winter. While in the south, people {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (usual) eat chicken, duck and fish. 

According to history, Lidong was also a time for people {#blank#}8{#/blank#}({#blank#}9{#/blank#}keep) vegetables. In the past, there {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (be) not many fresh vegetables to eat in winter. Therefore, around Lidong some people in the north began to keep vegetables like cabbages        green onions. However, most people buy fresh vegetables in the supermarket today. 

Have you ever heard of typhoons (台风)?

Typhoons are some of the worst storms, usually around the Pacific Ocean and the South China Sea. Most happen in July, August and September. 

How does a typhoon happen? When lots of sea water gets hot in the summer sun, it evaporates (蒸发) into the air. This makes the air hotter. When the air gets warm enough, it starts to move higher up into the sky. Then, cooler air around it rushes in. It fills (填充) the space that is left. After the air gets warmer, it starts to move quickly, making wind. The wind goes in circles (圆圈), and it keeps moving higher in the sky. The warmer the air gets, the quicker the wind moves. And when the wind moves faster than 30 metres a second, a typhoon begins. 

A typhoon has two parts. One is called the "eye". In the eye, the wind does not move so fast. The other part is the wall of clouds around the eye. This is where the strongest winds and hardest rains are. 

Typhoons are very dangerous. In 2022, Typhoon Chaba killed (杀死) 25 people in China, and one was missing.

What to do when a typhoon hits:

Stay inside. Close all the windows and stay away from them. Try to bring all of your things inside. Strong winds could even blow away your bikes! Listen to the radio or TV for important information.
