Walter Orthmann, a 100-year-old man from Brazil, has been working for 84 years at the same company. He broke the Guinness World Record for the longest career at the same company.
Walter was born in 1922, in a small Brazilian town As the oldest son of five, his mother took him to find a job. He started working at the age of 15 to help his family with financial problems. He got his first job as an assistant. With amazing working skills, he became a successful sales manager at the age of 20.
In the 1950s, Walter often went on business. He built solid relationships with his customers. His talents and abilities won their trust and support. Some of the customers even became Walter's long life friends.
In 2022, he tumed 100, but he didn't plan to retire from the only company he had ever worked for. He celebrated his hundredth birthday in the company with his coworkers, friends and family, holding an unforgettable party,
"When we do what we like, we don't see the time go by!"said Walter Orthmann. "I don't do much planning, nor care much about tomorrow. All I care about is that tomorrow will be another day in which I will wake up, get up, exercise, and go to work. "He suggested people should get busy with the present, not the past or the future. This is what drives him to make history!
In February, 2022, Walter Orthmann was officially recorded in the Guinness Book of Records. Looking back on his life so far, Walter described this record as his"proudest achievement",
Jamie Oliver is one of the Britain's most talented and successful chefs(厨师). Realizing that he could create real, positive change through food and cooking, Jamie turned his attention to the food given to British children at school. {#blank#}4{#/blank#} He knew things needed to change. Understanding the power of television, Jamie based himself in a school cafeteria and proved that with hard work, change was possible. Jamie'sSchoolDinnerswas again shown all over the world.
GETTING BACK TO BASICS
Jamie also decided to make a difference in people's homes. {#blank#}5{#/blank#} In 2010, he also developed a new qualification(资格),"Jamie's Home Cooking Skills", which is offered in high schools around the UK and teaches children practical cooking skills and basic food knowledge.
