This is Jim's bedroom. It's new and nice. A bed and a chair are in it. A desk is on the floor. Some flowers are on it .A bookshelf is behind the bed. Some English books are on the shelf. A picture is on the wall. Some people are in the picture. The man is his father. The woman is his mother. Who is the boy? Do you know?

    Mrs. Black's mother was ill in bed three days ago . So she had to go and look after her .

    Before she left , she said to her husband , “I must tell you where everything is , or you don't know what to do , but my train is leaving in half an hour's time and I must go now .”

    “Don't worry ,” Mr Black said , “ I can look after myself .” In fact , he could not do anything without his wife . But when his wife came back the next day , she did not have to wash any plates because he had his metals in restaurants .

    Jim and Tim are good friends. Jim is ten years old. He is tall and strong. And Tim is eleven years old. He is short and fat. They're pupils. Jim can ride a bicycle. He has a green and super bicycle. Tim can't ride, but he can swim and dive.

    Hans Christian Andersen （1805﹣1875）was the most famous writer in Denmark. His stories have attracted many young readers around the world.

Andersen's father was a poor shoe-maker. As he was very young, Hans was spoilt by his parents and his grandmother. But when he was 11years old, his father died and the boy had to leave school. His mother made a living by washing clothes, while Hans spent a great deal of time making theatre toys and puppets. He reads as many books as he could.

    Andersen published his first tale in 1835, and continued writing until he died. Andersen's words are simple and humor. The stories became popular in the early 1840's, and made Andersen famous more and more. Among the best known of his fairy tales are The Ugly Duckling, The Emperor's New Clothes, A Little Match Girl and so on.

    Jack is busy this weekend. He visits his grandma on Saturday morning. It is his grandma's birthday. They cook noodles together. After lunch, he helps his grandma do housework. In the evening, they watch TV together. On Sunday morning, Jack plays football with his friends. Then they go to the bookshop and buy two storybooks. In the afternoon, he washes clothes and listens to music. After dinner, he does his homework and reads his storybooks. He is very happy because the stories in the books are very funny.

Tom: Hi, Peter. Let's go and play football.

Peter: What day is it today?

Ton: It's Saturday.

Peter: Sorry. I can't play football with you. I have a skating (溜冰) lesson today.

Tom: What a pity!

Peter: What about Sunday? I don't have any lessons on Sunday.

Tom: All right.
