The Museum of Modern Art in New York City. The National Air and Space Museum in Washington. And the German Historical Museum in Berlin.
And those are only part of the list.
Children from more than 180, 000 families in China can now go on virtual(虚拟的) tours of ten world-famous museums. The programs provide video clips, cartoons and commentary(实时解说) by Chinese experts. The shows are produced by Aha School, an education company. The families each pay 15 yuan to watch. The company also gives away the programs to 174 rural(乡村的) classrooms.
Ma Xiaoyan is a teacher in Sichuan. He says the children there are very poor. They have never visited a museum. For some of them, even going to the closest town is difficult.
Educators are excited about the museum project. It shows how live streaming(在线直播) can help improve rural education. The technology is already widely popular on social media. However, it was not until recently that it had been used for education.
Aha School is not alone. A few urban schools in China have also begun sharing their lessons with rural schools. But some of the projects fail to produce the expected effect. That is because students in rural classrooms have very different backgrounds.
The museum project of Aha School has been a success. Pan Lisheng, the head of the company, says the problem doesn't lie in the technology. Instead, it is because few educators have worked out how to make the lessons interesting.
Pan and his workmates make sure that their programs will interest children from any background. "Every child is a unique(独一无二的) flower, " Pan said.
Winter sports need to be in cold places. Have you ever imagined one day people go to other planets to hold the Winter Olympics?
Mercury (水星) is the closest planet to the sun. In the daytime, the temperature can be up to 430℃, but at night it cools down to -160℃. There's one area that the sun can never reach. There's a lot of ice there. Maybe we can go speed skating and figure skating (花样滑冰) there!
The temperature on Mars is between -140℃ and 30℃. At the north and south poles of Mars, there are areas covered by ice and snow. There is also a big mountain called Mount Olympus. So maybe we can ski on Mars!
Pluto(冥王星) is a dwarf planet far away from the sun. It's very cold there, about -229℃. There's a lot of ice. It's even harder than steel. So maybe we can go sledding (滑雪橇) on Pluto. |
to begin with express sad feel down |
Time flies and you may {#blank#}1{#/blank#} when leaving junior high school. But it may make you feel much {#blank#}2{#/blank#} to say goodbye to your teachers and classmates. This feeling was shared more than 1,000 years ago, when the Tang Dynasty poet Wang Wei had to say goodbye to his friend.
A Farewell Song {#blank#}3{#/blank#} a lovely morning scene. On that morning, Wang has to say goodbye to his friend Yuan Er, who will leave for Anxi in today's Xinjiang. The last two lines are the most well-known. Yuan is invited by the poet to drink wine because he knows that life in Anxi will be difficult.
The journey {#blank#}4{#/blank#} the west would be full of difficulties, Wang thought. Wang invited Yuan Er to drink a cup of wine again {#blank#}5{#/blank#} his care and good wishes. This love for his friend made this poem popular back then and it remains so today.
