First Man is a picture book, it tells the story of Yang Liwei and his trip to space.

As we all know, Yang Liwei is China's first astronaut to fly into space. Yang was born on June, 21st, 1965 in the city of Huludao, Liaoning province. When he was 38 years old, he took Shenzhou-5 spaceship to space.

To help people get to know the Chinese space hero better and learn about his trip to space, the picture book was born. It is based on Yang's autobiography（自传）Long March to Space. In 2021, One Day in Space, a passage from Yang's book, was included in the seventh-grade textbook in Chinese middle schools.

Yang Liwei left for space at 9:00 on the morning of October 15th, 2003 and came back to the earth at 6:23 on the afternoon of October 16th. During the 21-hour stay in space, he flew around the earth 14 times. With great pictures and simple words, the book tells an exciting story as well as space science in an interesting way. From the book, we know that it is really ____ for people to travel in space. There is no gravity（重力）in space, so people don't feel comfortable. Yang's story tells us that nothing is impossible for a willing heart.

Wu Xiaoxi from the BSTP（北京科技出版社）came up with the idea of writing such a book. "There is a surprise in the book for readers-a picture of a rabbit looking at the moon," Wu says. "China plans to send people to the moon by 2030．We hope to write nice picture books at that time."

What do people do with their old, out of date but still useful computers? Most people don't know how to deal with them. Many old computers are put away. Many more are simply thrown away as rubbish.

Finally, some companies are thinking of ways to bring down the number of old computers. Sony has agreed to help recycle old Sony products(产品). Dell, Hewlett Packard and other companies now also take back some old computers of their own brands.

In some countries, laws have been passed, too. Computer companies have to pay for collecting and recycling their used products. And 70% of computer waste must be recycled. The idea behind the laws is that computer companies themselves should pay for the cost. That will encourage them to make computers which are easier and cheaper to repair and upgrade(升级).

Yet many people are throwing away good computers, while others cannot afford them at all. Hundreds of organizations are working on this problem. They collect and repair old computers. Some also teach others how to repair computers. These repaired computers then go to schools, charities(慈善团体) or people who need them. Giving a used computer to one of these organizations can turn one person's rubbish into someone else's useful things and cut down waste, too.

The mascots（吉祥物）for the 2024 Paris Olympics and Paralympics（残奥会）have shown up in front of us. They are the Phryges, two Phrygian caps.

The red Phrygian cap is also known as liberty（自由）cap. In old times, it was worn in Phrygia, a place in Türkiye（Turkey's official name）now. That was how it got its name. During the French revolution（革命）, it became a symbol of liberty. Today it is a common symbol for French people. In the Smurfs（《蓝精灵》）, a popular French cartoon, every smurf wears a Phrygian cap. An officer of the 2024 Paris Olympics and Paralympics said they didn't want to choose an animal or other characters. They wanted something that could stand for an "ideal".

The Paralympic Phryge has a prosthetic leg（假肢）that goes to the knee. Michael Jeremiasz, a gold winner at the 2008 Beijing Paralympics, says the prosthetic leg sends an encouraging message to disabled people around the world.

The two mascots share a saying of "Alone we go faster, but together we go further." They will help people from all over the world know more about the 2024 Paris Olympics and Paralympics.

Many children use the Internet to get useful knowledge and information, and to relax in their free time. But some of them are not using it in a good way. Here are some rules to make sure you are safe and have fun on the Internet. 

●Make rules for Internet use with your parents. For example, when you can go online, for how long and what activities you can do online. 

●Don't give your password(密码) to anyone else, and never leak out(泄露) the following information: your real name, home address, age, school, phone number or other personal information. 

●Check with your parents before giving out a credit card(信用卡) number. . 

●Never send a photo of yourself to someone in e-mail unless your parents say it's OK.

●Check with your parents before going into a chat(聊天) room. Different chat rooms have different rules and attract different kinds of people. You and your parents must make sure it's a right place for you. 

●Never agree to meet someone you met on the Internet without your parents' permission. Never meet anyone you met online alone. 

●Always remember that people online may not be who they say they are. Treat everyone online as strangers. 

●If something you see or read online makes you uncomfortable, leave the site(站点). Tell a parent or teacher right away. 

●Treat other people as you'd like to be treated. Never use bad language. 

●Remember—not everything you read on the Internet is true.
