Spring Festival(春节) is a big festival in China. Chinese like Spring Festival not because of the new clothes or nice food, but being with their family.

A: Hello, Sally! Are you available on Sunday afternoon? 

B: Yes, Peter.

B: Have a party? Well, if we have it on Sunday afternoon, half the class won't come. 

A: Why?

We must prepare for it. 

A: Oh, I forgot about that. When is the best time to have a party?

Then we can prepare for the test on the weekend.

As Ginni Bazlinton reached Antarctica, she was greeted by a group of little Gentoo penguins (企鹅) who seemed happy to say hello. These lovely penguins welcomed and started a trip that Ginni would never forget. 

Ginni, now 71, has had a deep love for travel when she was young. As a professional dancer she travelled around the UK, but always hoped to find more. When she retired from dancing,  ★ 

After taking a degree at Chichester University in Related Arts, Ginni began to travel around the world and found a job teaching English in Japan and Chile. It was in Chile she discovered she could get a cheap ticket going to Antarctica from the islands off Tierra del Fuego, "I just decided I wanted to go." she says. "I had no idea about what I'd find there and I wasn't nervous. I just wanted to do it. And I wanted to do it alone as I always love it that way."

In March 2008, Ginni boarded a ship to begin the journey to Antarctica with 48 passengers. "From seeing the wildlife to enjoying sunrises, the whole experience was wonderful. Antarctica is better than any other place," Ginni says. "I remember the first time I saw a humpback whale (座头鲸): it just rose out of the water like some prehistoric creature (生物) and I thought it was smiling at us. You could still hear the beautiful sound it was making underwater."

The realization that Antarctica is a valuable and important land which needs to be respected (尊敬) by humans is the biggest thing for Ginni.

At the age of 16, Einstein always played with a group of naughty (淘气的) kids. Because he was so busy playing, he didn't study enough and failed his final exam. 

One morning, when Einstein was holding a fishing rod (钓竿) and was about to go fishing with his friends, his father stopped him and said calmly (平静地), "Einstein, you're so fond of playing all day that you failed your exam. I'm worried about your future. "

"What are you worrying about? Jack and Robert also failed, but don't they still go fishing? "

"My boy, you can't think like that, "his dad said. "There is a story that people tell in our hometown. Listen to it now."

"There were two cats playing on a roof (屋顶). One cat suddenly went down the chimney (烟囱). It caught the other cat quickly. When the two cats climbed out of the chimney, one of the cats had soot (煤灰) on its face, while the other cat's face was clean. Seeing the soot-faced cat, the clean cat thought its face must be dirty, so it quickly ran to the riverside and washed its face. The soot-faced cat saw the clean-faced cat and thought its face was also clean, so it just ran down the street. "

"Einstein, no one can be your mirror. You have to think for yourself. If you take your cue (提示) from others, you will never learn. "

Hearing this, Einstein put down his fishing rod and returned to his room. He decided to pay more attention to his study and less attention to what his friends did. This allowed him to be successful. 

Long long ago, there is an old man. He lives in an old house." This house is too noisy(吵闹的)," he says. The door and the floors creak(咯吱作响). The windows go bang- bang.

One day, the old man goes to see a very wise(睿智的) woman." My house is too noisy," he says." What can I do?" The woman says," Take this goat to your house." And the old man does. The goat goes maa- maa. It breaks a chair with its horns(角). Bang!

The next day, the old man goes back to the woman." My house is still too noisy!" he says. So the wise woman gives(给) him a cow to take to his house. The cow goes moo- moo! The goat goes maa- maa! The old man puts(放) a quilt over his head.

The next day, the old man goes back to the woman." My house is still too noisy!" he says. So the wise woman gives him a donkey(驴) to take to his house. The donkey goes hee- haw, hee- haw! The cow goes moo- moo! The goat goes maa- maa! The old man shouts loudly," It is too noisy!" 

The next day, the woman comes to the house. She says," Open the door. Let out the goat, the cow and the donkey." The old man does. And what do you know?      ▲      The old man goes to bed and sleeps all day long.

An old lady was really glad when she was on the way back home. She was so tired after she shopped all day long. In the lift, she thought she would have a {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(杯子) of coffee and a quick dinner, but when she got out on her own floor, both were forgotten because she found that her front door was open. 

She walked slowly into the hall and {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(立即) noticed that all the room doors were open. She said to herself, "I remember {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(锁) the front door. And I'm sure that I have {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(关上) all the room doors before going out. "

It was clear that a thief(小偷) had come into her house. There were some footprints on the floor and on the {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(沙发). The old lady was so {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(不高兴的) that she telephoned the police at once. After a while, a {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(两个) of policemen came and asked the lady some questions. Then they searched the house {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(细心地) and asked the old lady to check what was lost. After {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(午夜), the policemen left. They advised her not to stay {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(独自) in the house, so she telephoned her daughter and asked her to stay with her for several days.
