Welcome to my classroom! I'm Tom. This is my schoolbag. I always put it on the desk, but now it's under my chair. It's black and white. Black and white are my favorite colors. My pencil box and books are in it. What's in the pencil box? A ruler, two pencils, a pen and an eraser are in it. The ruler is white. It's new. It is my friend Lucy's ruler. She has two, and she lends(借) one to me. The pencils are nice. One is black, and the other is red. The red one isn't my pencil. It's Jim's. The black pen is mine. It writes very well. The eraser is white. I take these things to my school every day. 

One day a man saw an old lady standing by her expensive car, clearly in need of help. So he stopped his old truck and got out. Although he was smiling, the old lady was worried. Was he going to hurt her? He didn't look safe.

The man could see that she was frightened, so in his friendliest voice he said. "I'm here to help you, madam. Why don't you wait in the car where it's warm? By the way, my name is Bryan Anderson."Bryan quickly fixed the car and the lady thanked him. Then she asked how much she should pay him.

But Bryan wanted no money. He was just giving a hand to someone in trouble. This was normal for him. He said, "If you really want to repay me, next time you see someone in need, help them and hink of me."

After saying goodbye, the lady continued down the road until she reached a small café where she decided to stop for something to eat. As the pretty waitress took her order, the lady noticed she was nearly eight months pregnant. Although the waitress looked tired she was very kind. As the lady was going to pay the $10 bill she remembered Bryan's words.

She paid with a hundred-dollar bill. But when the waitress returned with the change the lady was gone. On the table she saw a small note. There were tears in her eyes when she read it, "Somebody once helped me the way I'm helping you. If you want to pay me back, continue being kind to others." Under the note were nine more $100 bills.

Was the old lady an angel? The waitress was so excited that she called her husband to tell him the news. "Bryan Anderson my dear... you're not going to believe what just happened..."

My name is Bill. I'm an 11-year-old middle school student. I1 in Chaoyang Middle School. My school is in a beautiful and quiet place. It's far from the2 streets. In the front of my 3 is the office building. It's a building for teachers. Behind it is the4 . It is my 5 place because I like reading. After school, I always spend time reading books or doing my homework there.

Where is the classroom building? It's next to the library. Behind the library is the dining hall. There are 6 of foods there. There is a gym in my school, too. It's far from the classroom. My friends and I often walk there and 7 playing ball games there after school.8 there usually takes us about 15 minutes. On Tuesday, we have a badminton game and our class wins the first prize. It is really 9 .

I like the 10 in my school. They are very friendly. They often take us to climb mountains or watch movies on weekends. We are good friends.

Mushrooms are tasty and rich in healthy nutrients (营养物), which makes some people  collect them in the wild. However, eating the wrong mushrooms can make you sick or even dead. Therefore, growing mushrooms yourself inside your own home is getting popular.

There are two ways to do this. You can buy a set of materials from a garden store called a "grow kit (工具包) "or you can put them together yourself.

Grow kits(GK)

Grow kits are a great way for beginners to try growing mushrooms. These grow kits include partly-grown mushroom starters, called "spawn." (菌种体) The spawn is set in soil (土壤) and is planted in its own grow box. You put the spawn in water overnight. Then you return it to the box and open it to fresh air. Water it twice a day.

Within two or three weeks, you will be eating mushrooms with more on the way. It is fun and easy.

Putting them together yourself(PTTY)

If you want a larger harvest, it will cost less to put the materials together yourself. It is easy, too.

For starters, you will need a wooden, metal, or plastic box and some soil mixed with compost (肥料) and other materials. You will also need to buy fungal spores (真菌孢子) (something like seeds).

With clean hands, fill the box with your soil and materials. Put the spores evenly over the soil substance (物质) and water it twice a day gently.

To grow quickly and effectively, the spore-topped soil material should be kept away from direct sunlight. It should be kept at or close to 21℃. Put a piece of cloth lightly over the top of the box to keep moisture(水分) in. But do not cover it tightly (紧紧地). After it was coated with mycelium (菌丝体), move the box to a cooler place —12℃ to 15 ℃.

Mushrooms grow very quickly. With their tops fully open, they will be ready to harvest. That will be in about three to four weeks. Use a sharp, clean knife to cut them at soil level to avoid influencing nearby growth.
