Polar bears are our biggest land predators(捕食者) and they can look frightening. An adult male can weigh 1  600 kilograms and be three meters long. When a polar bear stands on two 2  , it is taller than a man.

Their living place is snow and ice in cold northern places like Alaska,Greenland and Canada. In winter, they travel across the frozen seas 3 prey(猎物). They eat seals and other animals and they are 4  hunters.

They have white fur, so it is 5  to see them in the snow. They have sharp, strong claws which help them to 6  and hold their prey. They also have long necks, small heads and large, flat feet. This makes them very strong swimmers.

7  , changes in climate mean that polar bears are now an endangered species. In places like Hudson Bay in Canada, temperatures have been getting higher 8  1950. This means that the sea has been freezing later every year,so the bears have 9  time to hunt on the ice. 10  , hungry bears go into towns looking for rubbish to eat.

Our parents are important people in our life. They are our first teachers in our life. They love us and help us all the time. But do you want to get on well with them? Here are some ways to help you to be happy with your parents. 

Have fun together 

How much time do you spend just enjoying being with each other? Ask your parents to play with you. Go outside together, try some sports, or go to the movies. 

Be kind 

Little things may bring a lot to your parents. Make a meal for them by yourself and that can make your parents happy. 

Ask for help 

When you are in trouble or meet some sad things, you can ask your parents for help and advice. They will be happy to listen to you and help you. 

Have a try 

You don't have to be the best but you need to have a try. They will be happy to see you have the courage to achieve your dream. It lets them know they're doing a good job in helping you grow up.

 Every year, more than 1.1 million tons of plastics end up in the ocean. It can take centuries for the waste, such as plastic bottles and single- use bags, to break down. That seriously harms(伤害) wildlife living there. Are you an eco- warrior(生态卫士)? Are you ready to help save the ocean from plastic pollution?

 Everything has a name, All people, places and things have names.

 When we meet a new person, we usually ask, "What's your name?" Most people have two names and names are different in different countries. In Jenny' s class, the students are from all over(遍及) the world. So it is not easy for her to know their names.

 In the US, many people have three names, a first name, a middle name, and a last name. Parents choose(选择) the first and middle names for their babies. There are names for boys and names for girls. For example, John, Peter, Tom and Mike are all names for boys. Jenny, Betty, Susan and Mary are all names for girls. The last name is the family name, like Green, Smith, Brown and Wood. Usually it is the father's family name. In a family, the mother, the father and the children usually have the same last name.

In China, the 12th month of the lunar calendar (阴历) is called layue. The month is full of interesting festivals and customs. Laba Festival, which falls on the eighth day of layue, is the first festival in this month. 59.  从这天起，人们开始为中国的新年做准备。 On Laba Festival, people eat hot Laba porridge.

There are usually eight things in the porridge: rice, red beans, peas, dried lotus seeds (莲子), dates (红枣), and three different kinds of fruits and nuts. The porridge is not just good for your health, but a blessing (祝福) for the coming of Chinese New Year. Laba porridge is not the only tasty food in layue. Laba garlic (腊八蒜)is popular in the north. People begin to soak garlic in vinegar from that day on, and eat it with dumplings during the Chinese New Year. While in the south, people like making sausages.

Another major celebration before Spring festival is xiaonian. It is usually on the 23rd or 24t day of the last lunar month. Traditionally it is an important occasion when people offer sacrifices (祭品) to the Kitchen God who looks after the family. Don't forget to clean your home. This is also an important thing to do to prepare for the Chinese New Year. It means sweeping away the dust of the old year and welcoming a fresh start. 60. Now, the last thing for you to do is to wait for the coming Spring Festival.

 Everyone should eat healthy food and drinks. Vegetables, fruit, milk, eggs are all healthy. Carrots, eggs and sweet potatoes are {#blank#}1{#/blank#}for our eyes. Milk, cheese and fish are good for our {#blank#}2{#/blank#}. Chicken soup can make us less tired. A lot of vegetables and fruit help us{#blank#}3{#/blank#} healthy. Ice cream, hamburgers and cola are not healthy. Meat is healthy but too much meat can make{#blank#}4{#/blank#} fat and unhealthy. Too much coffee is bad for our {#blank#}5{#/blank#}.

 It is important to have a right {#blank#}6{#/blank#} every day. It is helpful for kids to drink a glass of milk {#blank#}7{#/blank#}bedtime. Now many kids like{#blank#}8{#/blank#} fast food, such as fried chicken and hamburgers. They are popular because it's {#blank#}9{#/blank#}and convenient(方便的). They are delicious but bad. {#blank#}10{#/blank#} children should eat less.

 Remember: eat well stay healthy, stay away from unhealthy food and drink.
