Peter and Mike are very good friends. They are in the same class at school. They often go to school and play t{#blank#}1{#/blank#}, and they often visit each other's home at weekends, too.

    Now they are b{#blank#}2{#/blank#} eight years old. Peter's mother has got a new baby. Peter is very glad to have a little brother, so he is always talking about his younger brother to Mike.

    At first Mike is very interested in the new baby because he doesn't have any sisters or brothers. But after some time he begins to get tired of Peter's endless talking about it. He also feels a little jealous (嫉妒) of his friend.

    One morning before class, when the two boys m{#blank#}3{#/blank#} at the school gate, Peter says to Mike cheerfully, "Do you know, Mike, my little brother, has put on nearly half a pound in weight this week."

    "That's not much at all," answers Mike. "I know a baby who can put on more than ten pounds a day."

    "An elephant's," says Mike.

I: What are you doing here in Milan, Sadie?

S: I'm working. There is a big fashion show here.

I: Are you staying in a hotel?

S: No,I'm not. I'm staying with friends.

I: Are you having a good time in Milan?

S: Yes, I am. I'm enjoying it very much.

I: Now Sadie, tell the listeners, what are you wearing now?

S: I'm not wearing anything special! I'm just wearing jeans and a T-shirt.

It is my great honor to give a speech(演讲) here. I am Li Ming. Today my speech is about 

Betty collected a basket of seashells. She showed them to Amy. "Look! They are all 1 . These are big and those are small. Some look like beautiful animals. I can use them to make a birthday pre- sent for my Dad! How wonderful!"

Suddenly (突然), Amy saw the sea water rising along the beach. She was 2 and cried, "The waves! They will take your toys!"

"Put my seashells onto the bus, Amy!" Betty ran 3 to get her toys. 

Just when Amy was going to get the basket onto the bus, she fell down and the shells 4 into pieces.

She opened "Mum's Wish Book" and hoped that she could find these 2 in it. Mum wouldn't buy them for herself, because the family had a 3 time on the farm.Molly ran out by the back door and went straight to the post office. "I need to buy a stamp to 4 the form," she said to Mr. Smith, the only worker in the post office. 

And she told him that was a Christmas gift for her mother, and wanted him to help her to
