Now about half of the world's population live in cities, but by 2050, cities will probably become even more crowded! All these people will need places to live, and energy to power their homes. This will put more pressure on the earth's resources. So we need to come up with more ways which are good for the environment to build houses, travel and make energy.

Covestro, a company in Germany, is working hard to make the future cities better. Rebecca, the head of the company, tells us the following exciting new ideas.

"As we all know, climate changes and pollution are the two biggest challenges facing the future. Right now, people use fossil fuel (化石燃料) too much for energy. That's not good for the environment. At Covestro, we set up Covestro's idea lab, scientists come together to solve problems here. "

"We've developed some new materials. Because of that, we are able to change wind turbines (风力发电机) and try to make them much bigger. Larger wind turbines mean that they can produce more energy. "

"We're working on lighter solar panels (太阳能电池板) so that one day we could provide power for our planes and cars with sunlight! Besides, we are also recycling carbon dioxide (CO2),which is the main cause of climate warming. By using CO2, we've already successfully made sports floors, car parts and even clothing. "

"In the future, materials will become lighter and more natural-looking. They'll become ‘smarter'. They'll need to be able to share information using special tiny machine, that's what Covestro is creating at the moment!"

If you ask me what my favourite sport is, my answer must be swimming. I {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(learn) to swim since I was five years old. There are many {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(reason) why I love swimming, but I'll just share a few with you. Maybe you can {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (encourage) to go for a swim. 

The first reason is that I love staying and moving on the surface (表面) of water and{#blank#}4{#/blank#} (feel) almost weightless. I feel{#blank#}5{#/blank#} (total) relaxed after I leave the pool. On the other hand, it can also be a competitive sport. I felt amazed when I{#blank#}6{#/blank#}(push) to the challenge of beating someone else to the finishing line. 

Another reason is that it has {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(many) styles than other sports such as running and walking. It doesn't feel like I'm doing{#blank#}8{#/blank#} same thing over and over again. 

Besides, swimming can be a nice and refreshing(提神的) break in summer! There's nothing better than jumping into the water{#blank#}9{#/blank#} a hot summer day. 

And finally, it's a life skill which everyone should have. Not only is it good for our health,{#blank#}10{#/blank#} also we never know when we'll need the ability to swim. So it's never too late to learn it. 

I often hear some students say English is difficult and gives them a headache. So they can't learn it well. But English is very easy for me. {#blank#}1{#/blank#} I'm very glad to tell you something about how I study English. 

{#blank#}2{#/blank#} When I was in Grade Three, we had a new subject— English. It was new to me. I was interested in it, so I worked hard at it. Soon we had an English exam and I got a very good mark. How happy I was!{#blank#}3{#/blank#} Our English teacher often teaches us English songs, and the songs sound nice. I often think how interesting English is!

Second, as English is a foreign language, I learn it well in the following ways:{#blank#}4{#/blank#}Then practise again and again, and never be tired.{#blank#}5{#/blank#} Whenever I have a question, I must make it clear by asking our English teacher. How happy I am when I understand it!

Why are eyes so amazing?

{#blank#}2{#/blank#} They work hard every day, doing homework, watching television and playing sports. Eyes have been called"windows to the soul(心灵)". For example, they might look big and shiny when we' re happy to see someone. {#blank#}3{#/blank#}

How do eyes work?

 The eyes work by seeing light and then helping the brain turn this light into pictures. {#blank#}4{#/blank#} Dr Cheri Wiggs says that every night we experience a step of sleep called rapid(快速) eye movement(REM), which happens usually when we dream. Even though our eyelids(眼皮) are closed, our eyes are moving back and forth, up and down.

How can we take care of eyes?

 Starting with a healthy eating habit is important. {#blank#}5{#/blank#} Green vegetables such as spinach, and fish like salmon are good for eyesight. If we spend a long time watching films or playing video games, take breaks every 20 minutes to give our eyes a rest.
