I'm enjoying my staying in Canada. It is my first experience of studying abroad, and I am trying to 1  as much as possible. Classes here are much more fun and very different from classes in 2  . There are very few chances to practise 3  and listening in China, so although many Chinese students have good 4  , their speaking is not good. Studying English at Fern is much more practical. We actually 5  the language we are learning. I couldn't speak any English at all when I arrived here. 6 after about a month, the situation changed. Things started getting 7  and I made friends and started to settle in(安顿下来). I am really 8  to learn English here and Fern is a very good language school.

I have always wanted to have a sister. In my Canadian host family my dream has 9 . On the first day when I arrived, my host family welcomed 10  warmly. All the family members were 11  and helpful, and they made me feel at home at once.

My " 12 " , Joise, is very kind. She often explains their manners to me. Her mother explains ordinary things like housework. Together they 13  me to study and understand Canada. Joise told me a 14  . Last year, she met a Chinese student on a plane. She said she felt sorry 15 she did not say anything to the girl.

I'm happy to live in Canada. I think it will be an important experience in my life.

Mike has a new car. One day, it's 5:00 p.m. Mike is driving his new car to see his sister. His sister works in a hospital. But he doesn't know the way. He stops in front of a bank. At this time he sees an old man near his car. Mike comes out of the car and asks the old man, "Hey! Where is the hospital?" The old man doesn't say a word. Mike asks again, "Are you deaf (聋的)? Where is the hospital?"

This time, the old man says, "Yes, I know the way to the hospital. I can go there with you." The old man is now sitting in Mike's new car. Soon they come to a small house and the old man says, "Stop here, please!" Mike stops the car and says, "But this isn't a hospital at all."

"No," says the old man, "This is my house. I want to get home before dinner. Thank you for taking me home. The hospital is behind the bank. So go back to the bank and then turn left. You'll see the hospital. You can't miss it. Next time, never be impolite (不礼貌的)!"

After half an hour, Mike gets to his sister's hospital. It's just behind the bank!

One day during the Spring Festival, I was taking a walk near my house when suddenly there came a voice," Excuse me, sir." I turned around and saw an old beggar(乞丐)."Did you1 some money, about fifty yuan, around here? I lost it just now." He looked at me and2 my reply. "Sorry, I didn't, " I answered. He went away saying in a low voice, "Where is it?3 should I do now? I really need the money."

I could sense that he was4 . Then I got an idea.1 took out a fifty yuan note(纸币)and dropped it on the ground. "Here! Here is the money!" I picked it up and 5 it to him. Then I walked towards my house.

A week later, on a snowy afternoon, I heard someone knocking at the door. It was the old beggar with a heavy bag on his shoulder, He put down the bag 6 and said, "Thank you so much. I knew you gave me your own 7 that day, for the money I lost was in change(零钱). But my wife was8 , and I really needed it to buy some medicine for her. So I didn't return it you. He added, "I have nothing to pay for your9 . Here's some rice I got from door to door for your children. As the saying goes, ‘A child who is fed by many families grows stronger ,' I will be pleased10 you like it." Hearing his words, my wife and I were so moved that tears ran down our faces.

It's Sunday morning. My family are all {#blank#}1{#/blank#} home. My father is watching TV. He likes watching TV and cooking. My mother is cleaning the rooms.{#blank#}2{#/blank#} are my sisters? Oh, look! Lily is over there. She is drawing a picture. She{#blank#}3{#/blank#} drawing very much. Lucy is in her room. She is writing a letter to her friend. Lucy likes orange. Autumn is her favourite {#blank#}4{#/blank#}. What about me? I'm doing my homework. I like reading and writing. I {#blank#}5{#/blank#} my family.

Linda is our new classmate. She is a left-behind(留守的) child. Her parents 1 in another city. She lives 2 her grandparents.

It's November 8th and it is Linda's thirteenth 3 . My classmates and I want to have a 4 for her. In the morning, we decorate(装饰) the 5 with some beautiful paper and balloons(气球). Judy and I buy a 6 birthday cake for her, so everyone can have a taste(品尝). On the cake, there 7 a red flower. The party begins 8 9:30. Tony lights the candles, and then we 9 the song Happy Birthday to You to her. Linda is very happy.

After 10 the cake, we dance and play games in the classroom. All of us have a good time.

Two students were asked to meet their teacher at the end of a forest. There were two paths. One was short and easy, and {#blank#}1{#/blank#} other full of fallen trees. One student chose the easy one. He felt he was clever as he walked through without {#blank#}2{#/blank#} . He finished first and felt proud of {#blank#}3{#/blank#} . The second student chose to take time to jump over every fallen tree in his path. After {#blank#}4{#/blank#} at the finish line, he felt tired and regretted choosing that path. The teacher nodded and smiled at them both. He asked them to get a prize by a river three days later.

 When the students arrived, they were {#blank#}5{#/blank#} to hear that they needed to jump over a river which was a few meters wide. The teacher said, "Everything that you have done until now should have prepared you for this moment. This is a jump {#blank#}6{#/blank#} will lead you to greatness." The first student walked away immediately, as he knew that he hadn't prepared well {#blank#}7{#/blank#} for the jump. The second student knew now by choosing to deal {#blank#}8{#/blank#} challenges instead of avoiding them, he was ready for the jump. He {#blank#}9{#/blank#} towards the river and jumped as far {#blank#}10{#/blank#} he could. And he made it!
