Chinese researchers reached the top of Oomolangma on May 4,2022. They set up the world's highest automatic weather station at an altitude of 8,830 meters.This helps them to study the influences of climate change on the environment.It is the highest automatic weather station in the world now. It has taken the place of the station sitting at an altitude of 8430 meters on the south side of the mountain, which is the second highest now. This allows Chinese scientists to directly collect data for the first time from the top of the world's highest mountain.

Collecting and studying data from Oomolangma is not easy. But the data will give valuable information about the condition of local glaciers , and mountain snow. It will also help scientists study and understand the global monsoon system ,so experts can make proper decisions about climate change.Yao Tandong,a famous expert, said Chinese scientists had set up eight weather stations from 5 200 to8 830 meters above sea level. Half of the stations were set up at an altitude higher than 7 000 meters." Along with strong government support and hard work by scientists,  China has become a global front-runner in fields such as climate change ," Yao said.

BEIJING, May 28, 2024 (Xinhua News)—The Shenzhou-18 crew (全体工作人员) completed the first spacewalk of their mission (任务) at 6:58 p.m. (Beijing Time) on Tuesday, according to the CMSA (中国载人航天局).

The two members of the Shenzhou-18, Ye Guangfu and Li Guangsu, started their spacewalk. They worked outside the Tiangong space station for nearly 8.5 hours. With the help of space equipment (设备) and a team on Earth, they successfully completed many tasks during their spacewalk, including some difficult fixing tasks. Now they have returned to the Wentian lab module (实验舱). The third crew member, Li Cong, stayed inside Tiangong to provide support.

The Shenzhou-18 crew has set a new record for the longest single spacewalk by Chinese astronauts.

This marked Ye's second time to have a spacewalk, and his first spacewalk was in the Shenzhou-13 mission, but this is the first time for Li Guangsu to start a spacewalk.

The mission will include many tasks. First of all, the three members will do a series of space science experiments (实验) and many necessary tests. And then, they will carry out more activities and do some fixing work outside the space station. The three astronauts will work on board Tiangong until late October, according to the CMSA.

So far, Chinese astronauts have successfully carried out 15 spacewalks in all. On September 27, 2008, astronaut Zhai Zhigang in Shenzhou-7 mission made history as China's first person to take a spacewalk, which lasted about 19 minutes.

The Shenzhou-15 crew has achieved a milestone (里程碑) by having 4 spacewalks, marking the highest number of spacewalks by a single Chinese astronaut crew.

The Shenzhou-17 members completed, for the first time, the repair work to keep the equipment in good condition during their second spacewalk, which lasted about 8 hours.

Are you able to hang (悬挂) clothes? Are you able to put a nail (钉子) into the wall? For many people, doing these things is quite easy. But how do people who have trouble using their hands do these things? Well, they can use artificial (人造的) hands to help them out.

In Suzhou, some engineers are busy making a special hand better. The special hand is helpful and people can control it with the electrical signals (电信号) which come from their bodies.

These engineers hope to make it much better for Xu Min, who lost her right forearm in an accident in 1992. The woman wore the hand to take part in the Cybathlon Challenges in February. She finished tasks like hanging clothes, putting a nail into the wall and taking a nail out of the wall.

"These things are common in our daily lives and people want to test if the special hand, which was created by humans, can work just like a real hand," Xu said. Because she won the competition (比赛) in February, she was more confident about entering the October global finals — Cybathlon2024 in Zurich, Switzerland.

Cybathlon is the top event in the area. The event was first held in 2016. It takes place every four years. The competition tries to create a world without difficulty for people like Xu. In October, the competition will draw many teams from across the world.

Xu was a little nervous about competing with other people and companies from her country and other places. However, she and her team wanted to show their new product and how humans and machines could work together. Xu said she couldn't wait to get the hand ready and start the training.

It can be hard to be this responsible. A lot of people usually put off difficult or annoying tasks until they have to be done. They' re called procrastinators.

Procrastination is a common problem for many people. In fact, sometimes it just feels easier to wait until the last minute to do certain things. However, this is not a good thing, as you have to work hard er and faster if you wait until there is little time left. This means your work will probably be of less quality (质量).

I myself am a bit of a procrastinator. But most of the time, I try to finish my work earlier rather than later. It just makes more sense - if I finish my work now, I'll have more time to relax or work on other projects later. It can be hard to motivate (激励) myself to get started sometimes. But once I do, the work gets done quickly and with little stress.

Everyone procrastinates from time to time. It's a natural thing to do. You don't have to beat yourself up over it - after all, we still need time to relax and take a break from our busy lives. Just make sure you still get your homework done on time!
