Did you know that tea, the most popular drink in the world (after water), was invented {#blank#}1{#/blank#}accident? It is believed that tea was drunk about 5, 000 years {#blank#}2{#/blank#}It is said that a Chinese ruler {#blank#}3{#/blank#}Shen Nong was the first to {#blank#}4{#/blank#}tea as a drink. One day Shen Nong was {#blank#}5{#/blank#}drinking water over {#blank#}6{#/blank#}open fire. Some {#blank#}7{#/blank#}from a tea plant {#blank#}8{#/blank#}into the water and remained there for sometime. It produced a nice smell {#blank#}9{#/blank#}he tasted the brown water. It was quite delicious, and so, one of the {#blank#}10{#/blank#}favorite drinks was invented. 

Some of my friends think I have a boring daily life, but I like 1 . 

I usually get up at about 6:00 or 6:30 in the morning, after my alarm clock 2 me up.  First, I brush my teeth and wash my face.  Then, I get 3 and go downstairs to have breakfast with my family.  I always have coffee, bread and 4 fruit.  I take a bus to work because I 5 to drive.  I always arrive at my office before 8:00.  I'm never 6 for work. 

Five o'clock is my favourite time of the day 7 I finish work and go back home to see my family again.  I have two kids, Thomas and Patrick.  Thomas is six years old and Patrick is eight.  We have dinner together in 8 dining room at around 6:00 p.  m.  After that I usually stay 9 my wife and kids at home.  We really enjoy 10 our favourite TV programmes together.  We like to watch shows 11 travel. 

However, two or three times a week I 12 exercise in the evening, so I can stay strong and healthy.  I think it is very important! 13 , at 9:30 p. m. , I go to bed, read for a while, and then fall asleep. 

Of course, some people think my daily life is not fun, but on weekends and holidays I 14 going travelling with my family! It's 15 favourite hobby. 

I was doing the work in the garden yesterday. It was a soft evening and I was   making the most of it when I heard a neighbor's voice coming from the path out of our garden. 

I found there was a man lying on his back on the path with his eyes closed. I   recognized him. I had seen him doing the drunkard's(酒鬼) walk along that path several times. 

I stopped to walk out. " Do you need some help?"I asked. 

He opened his eyes and said, " Probably. " Then he told me because of arthritis(关节炎) he couldn't walk well at the most of times. I thought I should do it when he asked to help him go home where he lived a few hundred metres away. 

I tried to let him walk under his own strength with me guiding him but that   was getting us nowhere. It was easier to carry him, but that would be a real insult(侮辱) to him. So, I held his left hand with my left hand and grabbed his belt with my right hand. Then we started walking slowly. 

On the way he told me his name, what he had worked as, what holidays he had been, how wonderful his granddaughter was, what his wife's name was, and what a hard time she would give him when he got home!

Thank goodness! His wife wasn't in when we walked forty- five minutes back to his home. 

If we wait until we feel good about helping before we help, then people will go unhelped and we will become the ones who end up walking on by.

Long time no see! It is good to hear that you{#blank#}1{#/blank#}(visit) China. You asked me when the best season {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(come) to China is. Let me tell you. It is {#blank#}3{#/blank#}the autumn. Most of the {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(place) in China are neither too hot nor too cold in this season. So it is {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (comfortable) time to travel of all the seasons.{#blank#}6{#/blank#} you are going to visit South China, you should take an umbrella because there {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(be) some rain. You can stay in {#blank#}8{#/blank#} hotel. You won't pay much for it because hotels are not very expensive here. But I also invite you to stay in my home. I am happy {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(be) your guide during the holiday. I'm looking forward to {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(know) all about your travel plans. Please write back to me soon.

There were many famous inventors and scientists in history. You must have heard about a lot of them and known them well. But you may not know Nikola Tesla. 

Nikola Tesla and his inventions were well- known to people in the area of science and electricity, but not quite known to the general public today. Nikola Tesla was a Serbian- born inventor, who later moved to the US. He was most well- known for his inventions in the area of electricity and electrical engineering. He was considered one of the greatest electrical engineers in history. 

Why was Nikola Tesla not well- known while others in his time became so famous to the public? Some said Nikola Tesla failed to make the right business decisions. Others said it was because of his "mad scientist" qualities (特质) — the same qualities that helped him come up with some of his best ideas. His qualities led him to many strange ideas. Towards his last years, he came up with many ideas that seemed unacceptable to the public at that time. He worked very hard on them, which made people think he was mad. 

Many of Tesla's inventions and patents (专利) didn't end up being used in the exact way he had planned for them. Some of those include his high- frequency lighting ideas, wireless power and the free energy receiver.

 It's Sunday today. Jack and his parents are free. So They go to the park(公园) for a picnic. They go there by car. Jack's father drives the car. They take some favorite food with them, such as chicken, hamburgers and cakes. They also take some orange juice and water. Jack's mom takes some apples and bananas, too. She says they are good for them.

 After lunch, they fly the kites. Jack has two kites and he likes flying kites very much. It's windy today. Jack's father helps him with the kites. The family are happy. Then they go to the zoo. They see many animals at the zoo. They are cute.
