   Corona viruses are common in animals. Sometimes, animals get infected (感染的) with these viruses which may then spread to human beings. To protect yourself, you should not visit live animal markets or have direct contact with wild animals. Stay away from raw meat, animal organs and other undercooked animal products.

   When an infectious pet was found in Hong Kong, some may wonder if one can get virus from their pets. Until today, there is no evidence that a dog, cat or any pet can transmit (传播) COVID-19. Please do not kill or give up pets!

Touching surface with virus

   Studies suggest that COVID-19 virus may stay on surfaces for a few hours or up to several days. However, the number may change under different conditions such as type of surface, temperature or the environment.

   If you think a surface may be infected, clean it with ethyl alcohol (酒精). After touching it, clean your hands with alcohol or wash them with soap and water. Avoid touching your eyes, mouth, or nose.

Package(包裹)

   Before delivering to your home, a package has been moved, travelled, and exposed to different conditions and temperature. Therefore, the possibility of being infectious because of your package from COVID-19-reported areas is rather low. There is no need to send your package back.

Smoking

   An article posted on Wechat recently says that cigarette can protect smokers from COVID-19 and thus make cigarettes sell very well. It is an online rumor (谣言)! As has been known, smoking harms people's health. It weakens the immune system and worsens diabetes and blood pressure. No smoking is still a must!

Transportation

   According to Feng Luzhao, an expert from the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention, the major routes of transmission are still through respiratory droplets and direct contact. In order to protect yourself in underground station, wearing a mask and keeping your hands clean are good ways. People are also encouraged to use a personal transportation card or pay for the ticket via an app. After taking public transportation, washing hands is necessary.

Most people love animals. Many children's books use animals as the main characters（角色）. Many people look after animals as pets. Do you know {#blank#}1{#/blank#} people enjoy going to zoos? The love for animals may {#blank#}2{#/blank#} the reason.

In the past, zoos were usually started by rich（富有的） people. The {#blank#}3{#/blank#} zoo was started by a queen（王后）in Egypt in 1500 BC．Sadly, the animals in the early zoos were not treated well. They didn't receive（收到）{#blank#}4{#/blank#}attention or care.

Today, zoos still bring people pleasure, {#blank#}5{#/blank#} they try to protect animals and teach people as well. Zoos must follow rules. People must provide animals {#blank#}6{#/blank#} a clean place to live, food and water, and health care. In this way, the rules help protect the animals.

Some people think the {#blank#}7{#/blank#} are not enough. They want to do more to protect the animals they love. For example, people were against the use of some large animals in shows. They thought the zoos didn't have enough {#blank#}8{#/blank#} for the animals to show. With so many people against the shows, the zoos {#blank#}9{#/blank#} to make a change.

People see animals in zoos. At the same time, they try to learn about and protect {#blank#}10{#/blank#}. Both people and animals can get a lot from each other.

My sister and I are different from each other. I like music very much, so I {#blank#}1{#/blank#} play the piano in my free time. But my sister {#blank#}2{#/blank#}tries to

play the piano because she hates it. She doesn't like sports but she {#blank#}3{#/blank#} plays badminton to keep fit. We are close to each other though we have different hobbies. We {#blank#}4{#/blank#} fight with each other unless we are really angry.

Michelle Wie, from America, was like a lot of other young girls in many ways. She was a good student, and she liked reading, drawing, and computers. However, in some other ways, she was very different. She didn't spend much time going out with friends or shopping or going to parties. She was very busy practising golf.

Now Michelle Wie is the best woman golfer for her age in the world, She was born in 1989. In 1999, at the age of 10, she began to win games against the women twice her age. At 13, she could hit the ball further than most of the women in the Ladies Professional Golf Association(LPGA). At 14, she showed she could hit the ball further than most men.

Wie began playing golf at the age of four. When she grew older, she practised it for about four hours a day on weekdays and about seven hours a day on weekends. Another thing that helped her was that she was tall. By the time she as 13, Wie was six feet tall. She's a joy to watch. She has the flexibility of a dancer and is also very strong. And it's clear that she loves the game.

Most of us need friends, but some of us do not know how to make friends. My teacher Mr. Smith gave me some advice

{#blank#}1{#/blank#} you make friends, you must decide who you want to choose to be your friends. Most people like to have friends who like to do the same things {#blank#}2{#/blank#} they do. Think about your favorite things and try talking to your classmates about your {#blank#}3{#/blank#} hobby.

The quickest way to make {#blank#}4{#/blank#} friend is to smile. If you do so, people think you're friendly. At first, it may not be easy to smile. However, remember that nobody {#blank#}5{#/blank#}( like) a long or cold face

One easy way to talk with people is to say something nice about them. Just think about {#blank#}6{#/blank#} you feel when someone says something nice about you. Doesn't it make you want to keep {#blank#}7{#/blank#} ( talk) with a person?

Ask {#blank#}8{#/blank#}( you) new friends questions about them. Who's their favorite singer? Where do they live? Who's their teacher or what do they do after school? Sometimes you can make friends {#blank#}9{#/blank#} ( easily) if you ask more questions.

After making some friends that share the same interests. It's always fun {#blank#}10{#/blank#} ( play) or do something together. And this is the right way to make a friendship closer.

In English, there is an old saying: All good things must come to an end. That is to say, "The best of friends must Part（分离）" This, however, might not always be true. For the six friends in Friends, the "good things"—the friendships（友谊）between them don't really end. 

Friends is one of the most popular sitcoms in America. It tells the story of six young people. They come to New York City to find love, success and fun. Each of them is different, but they become friends. 

Friends was on from 1994 to 2004. After all these years, many people wanted to see the six young people meet on the screen again. And this wish came true in the end. 

A new special Friends: The Reunion（重聚）came out on May 27, 2021. It has been one of the most anticipated（期待的）TV dramas in 2023. 

For sure, watching Friends can help you learn English. But you can learn more from it. One thing is how to build true friendships. As Rachel said "Back in the 1990s, there were no smart phones. It was just friends sitting around and talking with each other. " If you want to have lifelong（终身的）friends, don't just talk with them online. Be sure to always be there—for your friends.
