Our lives would not be the same without bees. Bees help plants grow. Many of these plants provide us with food. What would happen if there were no bees? Some fruits and vegetables that we enjoy could not grow. Bees are wonderful creatures*.

But now the number of bees is getting lower and lower. Scientists worry that bees may die off. How can we solve it? One answer is to make our gardens friendly to bees.

Making our gardens bee- friendly can increase the number of bees. Planting a bee garden is a great idea. These gardens provide bees with nectar*. A successful bee garden would have flowers from spring to fall. The garden would have all kinds of plants that are closely grouped together.

Many people believe that all bees live in hives. In fact, some bees dig into the ground. There they build nests and lay eggs. People lay wood pieces or other things on the ground. Bees can not dig nests when these materials cover the ground. Here is another good way to help bees. When you are working outside, leave loose dirt* in flower beds and gardens.

Some bees' nests are in old pieces of wood while others' in holes, in buildings or in trees. Gardens can provide spaces like these for bees. Trees or walls that stop wind are a good idea. And cool areas also can help bees get away from the hot sun. Bee gardens also provide bees with water. Bees need water just like people do

Making a garden friendly for bees is far from a useless task. The results are worth* the efforts*.  A bee- friendly garden is beautiful and colorful. Most importantly, it helps to keep bees healthy and happy.

Many people enjoy watching movies in a cinema. They think the cinema has a better atmosphere（气氛）to enjoy the movie. However, I think people are happier and freer when watching movies at home. 

Watching movies at home is more comfortable. To watch movies in a cinema, you have to buy a ticket before you go there for a better seat. However, there is no need for people at home to worry about the ticket. They can enjoy movies at any time they like and with the most comfortable seat. What's more, people watching movies at home wouldn't have to face any traffic problems. 

It is free to watch movies at home. In the cinema, we can't go outside and do something else because the movie won't wait for us. Sometimes we miss part of the movie. At home, we can pause（暂停）at any time and go back to watch the part. 

All in all, a cinema is a good place to watch movies, but it isn't the best place to enjoy the movies. I think watching movies at home is better. 

Family Day is a day for families to have fun together(一起). It's a time for us to show love to our family. Here are some kinds of activities(活动) for Family Day.

We can just stay at home and do some cleaning, do some cooking or play games together.

We can have a picnic or play sports in the park.

Some families may like to go to another(另一个) city to try something new there.

Helping others is a very good family activity. So we can go to visit some old people and do some cleaning for them.

These activities make us know each other. Families, help us a lot la Canada, Family Day becomes a holiday on the third Monday in February、Different families have different activities, but they are all very happy on Family Day. What about your family Day? Could you tell us something about it?

 Mr. and Mrs. George and Olivia Ransom bought an old house, and were spending time fixing it up. The walls needed painting and the wooden floorboards(地板) needed replacing.

 One day, they pulled (拉) up some old floorboards and were surprised to see a case under the floor. They pulled it out, dusted it off and opened it. It was full of old newspapers from the year1977. George and Olivia were interested to read the news stories at that time. But as they took the newspapers out, they noticed a black box at the bottom of the case. It was locked.

Then Olivia remembered that there were some old things in the kitchen. There was a cup with old keys in it. She ran to get the cup, took out the keys and tried them in the lock. One of them opened it!

 The box was full of jewellery (珠宝). There were necklaces and rings of silver and gold. Olivia and George were amazed. Who put the jewellery there, and why? Who did it belong to?

 George remembered a story in the old newspapers. He quickly found it again and they read it together.

"That name— Jensen, said George. "It's familiar to me— why?"

"It's the old lady who sold the house to us!" replied Olivia. "Her name was Mrs Jensen. She told us her husband died in 1978 and he was a jeweller."

"That's strange," said George. "I wonder, was there really a jewellery theft? Or did Stanley Jensen hide the jewellery under his own house? But why...?"
