Nowadays, more and more young people like to take the subway to go to work or go to school. When speaking of taking the subway, the following important signs are of great concern.

         In the past five years, Lord(公爵) Michael Bates, has walked in hundreds of cities to promote (推广) peace and charity."I am not a natural outdoor person," he says, "but I can only walk when I have a clear purpose(目的)." He has walked at least 12, 000 kilometres and raised more than 460,000 pounds(英镑). The money has helped many children through education and sports.

         In 2015. Lord Bates set out from Beijing all the way to Hangzhou and raised a total of 90,000 pounds for children with disabilities(残疾), And his book Walk for Peace has just come out in China. The Chinese government thanked Lord Bates for his contribution to peace and charity, as well as building the bridge of understanding between the two countries.

         "Lots of people want world peace, but world peace starts with better relations in your own society, better relations in your family, and building friendship abroad. It begins with us," says Lord Bate.

Do you speak a dialect (方言) in daily life? While many Chinese people speak Putonghua, some local dialects are in danger of disappearing. To save them, the Chinese government started the Chinese Language Resources Protection Project a few years ago.

This project looks at how people talk in 1,712 places. Their languages include 103 dialects that are almost gone. It has helped China to build the largest language resource library in the world. There's an online library where people can learn dialects from over 5.6 million audio clips (音频) and over 5 million videos.

Why is it important to protect the dialect culture? According to British linguist Harold Palmer, dialects are a key to store local cultures. Language faithfully shows the history, the beliefs and the biases of an area, he said.

Scholar Zhang Hongming talked about his worries of the disappearing of dialects. "For about over10 years, in the Wu dialect areas such as Shanghai and Suzhou, children aged 6 to 15 can understand but hardly speak the dialect. Meanwhile, young people above 15 years old sometimes speak it, but not very well. If this keeps happening, the dialect might disappear." he said.

So how did China make this big library? A big national effort has been put into the project to make it happen, said Cao Zhiyun, chief expert on the project. Over five years, more than 350 universities and research groups joined in, along with over 4,500 experts and more than 6,000 dialect speakers.

The project is now entering into its second part. This includes creating digital tools like apps and mobile dictionaries to help people learn dialects.

On 8th March, a British man named Charles Eugster set a world record at the age of 95. He competed in the indoor 200m race at the British Masters Athletics Meet in London. He crossed the finishing line after 55.38 seconds and he broke the world record（57.88 seconds）set by American Orville Rogers in 2013.

Later, Eugster shared the good news on Facebook and thanked those who helped him to achieve it.

"I have just broken the M95 World Record in the indoor 200m race!"he wrote."55.38 seconds—I'm over the moon…Thank everyone for helping me achieve this."

After retiring（退休）as a dentist，Eugster took up exercise and played all kinds of sports. He began training as a runner when he was 80 years old. When he was 87， he joined a bodybuilding club. In 2013， he took up competitive track（跑道）.

He said, "I've always competed—competition is good for the body and the mind. Life is about challenges（挑战），and you must always try something new. I want to show that I can learn a completely new sport and that I can be competitive in it."

On the website, Eugster offered some advice on being successful. "Successful aging requires work， diet and exercise. Bodies can now be rebuilt at any age and a new life started."
