A few weeks ago, I went into Chase's class for help. I e-mailed Chase's teacher one evening and said, "My son keeps telling me that his homework is maths, but I'm not sure whether I should believe him. Help, please." She e-mailed right back and said, "No problem! I can help Chase after school anytime." And I said, "No, not him. Me. He gets it Help me."

And that's why I stayed with Chase's maths teacher. We talked about teaching children. We agreed that subjects like maths and reading are not the most important things that are learned in a classroom. We also talked about something else--kindness and bravery. 

And then she told me this. 

Every Friday afternoon Chase's teacher asks her students to take out a piece of paper and write down whom they'd like to sit with the following week. She also asks the students to nominate (推荐) who is the most popular student that week. They needn't write down their names on the paper. 

After the students go home, she takes out those pieces of paper and studies them. In fact, Chase's teacher is not looking for a new seating chart (表) or "popular students". She is looking for lonely children. She's looking for the ones who don't want to talk with others. She is finding out whose names are not noticed by their classmates.     ★        

After watching Columbine, the wise woman knew that all violence (暴力) comes um loneliness. So she decided to start fighting violence early and often, and what she is doing is SAVING LIVES. 

And she finds the lonely kids from those lists and tries to help them. It's maths to her. All is love--even Maths. 

During the summer vacation, some boys came to a tall tree. They wanted to play a game to see who could climb to the top of the tree first. Their mothers sat there, looking at the children. 

David was one of the boys. He was young and short. No one thought he would win the game. When the game started, all of the boys tried to climb as high as they could. They all made it halfway (在中途) up the tree before David got to the top of the tree first in the end. 

His mother was amazed to see it. She asked, "David, how did you get to the top so quickly? "

David said, "The other boys kept looking down as they climbed. When they learned how high they were, they got scared and were afraid of falling down. But I only looked up. When I saw how close I was, I kept climbing. " It's true in life that if we keep moving forward (向前) without looking back, we will get close to our dreams. 

Did you have cereal(麦片) for breakfast this morning? If you did, you're not alone. Lots of people eat cereal for breakfast every day. In fact, cereal is popular all over the world. It all started with one man, Will Keith Kellogg. 

Will was born on 7th April 1860, in Battle Creek, Michigan. His first job was as a stock boy at the Battle Creek Sanitarium. A sanitarium is a special place that is a little like a hospital. People who are ill for a long time or who are getting over a serious illness can go there. Will had other jobs as he got older. But when he grew up, he became a manager of the sanitarium. His brother, John, was the chief doctor there. 

One big problem at the sanitarium was the food that the patients eat daily. The patients needed healthy food, but it was also important for the food to taste good. Will was trying to find a good food choice to take the place of the bread, but it wasn't going very well. Then, by accident, Will found something even better. He left some wheat to cook too long. When it was rolled out, it formed large, thin flakes. He asked his brother to serve it to the patients, and they loved it! In fact, they liked it so much that they wanted to eat the flakes even after they left the sanitarium. So in 1894, the creation of Kellogg's Corn Flakes came out. Before long, Kellogg's breakfast cereal was popular in other countries too. Today, there are many kinds of breakfast cereals. But it all started with one man and one idea. 

Will did more than just create breakfast cereal. His company made a lot of money. But he always shared it with others generously. He used much of his money to help children. He also helped some charities(慈善机构) with his money. Will Kellogg died in 1951. But his most famous invention is as popular as ever. 

ChatGPT is a new type of robot. It was created by OpenAI in San Francisco. It understands human languages and can talk to people too. ChatGPT can answer questions，recognize mistakes，challenge wrong settings，and say no to improper requests by having conversations. 

GPT stands for Generative Pre-trained Transformer. Elon Musk，the person behind it，says，"ChatGPT is amazing but also a bit scary because it presents a challenge. " Experts say that within just two months of its release（发行），ChatGPT has got 100 million users. 

ChatGPT is good at both talking and listening. It can be serious or funny，depending on the situation. For example，if you say，"Tell me a lie（谎言），"ChatGPT might reply，"The sky is made of green cheese. "Then，if you say，"That's not a good lie. Tell me more lies，"ChatGPT might playfully say，"I am actually a human. "Besides conversations，this AI chatbot can even write emails and papers. Surprisingly，it can also create poems and stories. ChatGPT can also help with writing code quickly and correctly. Maybe one day，it could even work as a top engineer. 

However，some experts say that ChatGPT might be improved to answer questions which it hasn't been trained on. And Some schools in the US，Australia and France have banned（禁止） the use of ChatGPT. They worry that the tool could make it easier for students to cheat on homework and tell others incorrect information. 

But Bhaskar Vira from the University of Cambridge，said that bans on AI software like ChatGPT are not wise. "We have to know that AI is a tool people will use. What we need to do is 'adapt（适应） our learning，teaching and examinations'. That way，we can be honest while using the tool. " 

In my eyes，ChatGPT doesn't completely change our lives or cause bad influence on schools. It shows that AI has entered a new time instead. What do you think？Will ChatGPT replace human beings？
