Many years ago, most of our earth wascovered with blocks (块) of ice. These iceblocks were as tall as high buildings in modern cities. Most of the ice was inthe northern part of the world. Then the ice blocks started to move south. Coldand rain came with the ice. Animals had to move. At last, the ice began to melt(融化). After half a million years, most of it melted.More than half of the earth became covered with water. Theclimatebecame much warmer. Things began to grow. The earth began to look the way inwhich it looks today.

Another Disney princess movie hit theatres on 5th March 2021. But this time the princess doesn't wait for the prince to save her — she is ready to save the world herself. Raya and the Last Dragon, the film shows Southeast Asian culture and Disney's first Southeast Asian heroine (女主角).

The story takes place in a world called Kumandra. Five hundred years ago, the world's dragons died to save humans. But the world breaks up into five states and they fight against each other. Raya, the princess of one of the states, needs to find the last dragon to save the world. On her journey, Raya invites other people to join her and learns to trust others and be more responsible.

Once upon a time, being a Disney princess meant being a damsel in distress(落难女子) in a European fairy tale, but this movie is different, according to the BBC. Raya has no boyfriend, but is a great fighter who is very brave and independent, according to the movie's writer Adele Lim.

Besides Raya, most of the main characters in the movie, including the dragon Sisu, are female. They stand out and depend on(依靠) no one else instead of acting as supporting roles for males. Namaari, once a friend to Raya, is now a dangerous enemy. She is a strong, brave and loyal fighter, just like Raya.

The movie shows "a complicated dynamic(复杂互动) that's still rare in the Disney universe, particularly between women," the Los Angeles Times said.

Different children like doing different things in their free time. 

Tina likes doing outdoor (户外的) activities a lot. She goes to climb mountains{#blank#}1{#/blank#}(one) a week. She thinks climbing mountains can make her relaxed and it's also good for her {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (healthy). 

Tom likes going to his uncle's farm {#blank#}3{#/blank#} bicycle. He helps his uncle feed ducks and pigs. He always has {#blank#}4{#/blank#}wonderful time there. 

When Frank is free，he helps his mother do the housework. But Frank {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(hard) ever goes shopping with his mother. He thinks it's boring. 

Cindy likes staying at home，but she never feels {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(boring). She likes reading books such as science books. {#blank#}7{#/blank#}she thinks they're difficult for her，she reads at least one book every week. That's because she wants to be a {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(write). 

What about Grace in her free time？Sometimes she goes to the old {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(people) home or goes to the library. Sometimes she keeps {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (diary) in English. So she always feels full in her free time.

Confidence( 自 信 )is very important in daily life. It can help you to develop a healthy attitude(态度). A study shows that the people who are more confident are much happier. They can have more chances to make themselves successful. Here are some suggestions about how to be more confident. 

Speak loud When you are not confident, you can't do well what you want to do. You speak in a voice so low that other people can hardly hear you. Try to speak aloud enough so that people can hear you clearly. The high voice can help you become more confident. 

Play sports Physical exercise makes you tired but completely relaxed. A strong body helps you be full of confidence. 

Encourage yourself Write down a list of things you did during the day to see how many things you have done well. Did you finish your homework? Did you tell a joke that made everybody laugh? Give yourself praise for the good things you've done. 

Pick up a hobby If you like singing, sing as much as you can. In some ways, a hobby can make you outstanding and popular. And it will also make you confident. 

Get rid of（消除）fear Fear comes along with failure. But it's easy to overcome（战胜）if you know that failure is part of your life. Don't hide your head just because you said something stupid last time. Try to start again and believe you can do better. 

Silent love

Along a mountain road, a handsome young man walks fast.{#blank#}1{#/blank#} older man with a strict face follows him. This is {#blank#}2{#/blank#} my favourite film, Postmen in the Mountains. It's a touching story about the love {#blank#}3{#/blank#} father and son. 

For years, the father {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(serve) as the postman for this area. He was often absent {#blank#}5{#/blank#} home and the son seldom saw him. But now the son {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(take) over his father's position. The father goes with him {#blank#}7{#/blank#} his first day of work. Along the way, they start to see into each {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(other) hearts. 

For the first time, the son{#blank#}9{#/blank#}(carry) his father across a cold river. It brings back the father's memory of {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(carry) the son on his back.{#blank#}11{#/blank#}(tear) quietly run down his face. 

This film shows a {#blank#}12{#/blank#}(tradition) Chinese father. He is happy about {#blank#}13{#/blank#}(he) son's growth. {#blank#}14{#/blank#} he just hides his care in his heart. He doesn't give hugs or {#blank#}15{#/blank#}(kiss) to his son. His love may be silent. But like a mountain, it is always there. 

Parents with high expectations for their children are nothing new to Chinese kids. However, people often don't realize that children also have expectations for their parents. China Youth & Children Research Center did a survey in four countries.

The survey found that 83.8% of Chinese children want to be friends with their parents— the greatest amount（数量） among the four countries. {#blank#}1{#/blank#}

Sophia Ren, 13, has her own thoughts about the subject. Ren is an ABC, or American-born Chinese. Although her family lives in California, they cannot avoid the influence of their Chinese background. "I feel like my friends are closer to their parents. {#blank#}2{#/blank#}" Ren said. "In Chinese families, you usually don't do things like that."

Manage yourselves like an adult.

If you want your parents to give you more freedom, you should show them that you're ready to be treated differently. For example, learn to use self-control. Show them that you can manage your time well.

Open your heart to your parents.

US psychologist（心理学家） Carl E. Pickhardt wrote in Psychology Today that sharing feelings with your parents can lead to positive changes, while not sharing them can cause misunderstandings.

Care for your parents.
