I'm Mike. I'm an American boy. I'm a pupil. I have lots of hobbies. I like fishing, riding my bike, swimming and reading story books. I've got many photos of bikes. I often go fishing and swimming at the weekends. My father likes swimming, too. We often have swimming matches (比赛). My mother likes reading books. And she's got a book about China. It's very interesting.

There is an art show in the Chinese Cultural Festival. The children are introducing their pictures.

Today is Sunday. After lunch, Peter helps his mother to do some housework. They clean the room together. Peter cleans the windows. His mother washes the clothes. Where is his father? Oh, he is making a kite. Look at this kite! It is beautiful! Peter and his mother like the kite very much.

In the Western Han Dynasty (朝代), people know how to make paper. In the Eastern Han Dynasty, Cai Lun uses tree bark, old cloth, and fishnets to make paper. These things are easy to find and cheap. Since then, more people can use paper.

Compass is also called Sinan. It is invented in China during the Han Dynasty. The spoon on the compass always points (指) to the south. It helps travelers to find their way.

Gunpowder is invented in China during the Tang Dynasty. It is a mixture of sulfur, charcoal, and saltpeter. At first, it is used in fireworks. Then people use it in cannons and guns.

Printing is invented in China during the Song Dynasty. It uses small blocks to create printed pages. So people can print books faster. After that, more people can read books and learn new things.

This is my mum. She is nice. My mum is good at word {#blank#}1{#/blank#}. She likes {#blank#}2{#/blank#}. She can dance like a butterfly. She is really nice. My mum is a good fairy. When I'm {#blank#}3{#/blank#}, she can make me happy. She could be a film star, or a {#blank#}4{#/blank#}. But she's MY mum. I love my mum. And you know what? She {#blank#}5{#/blank#} me, too. And she always will!
