Colours can tell us things in our culture.

The Chinese have special feelings for red. It usually means good things. We use red colour in celebrations(庆典)and big festivals. But at the same time, red stands for danger or alarm in traffic signs(交通标志).

In ancient China,the yellow colour used to be the symbol of honor and power. Now it is frequently used in traffic signs. It reminds(提醒)people to be careful.

Green is the colour of all plants. Green is also connected with health and harmony(和谐). It symbolizes(象征)traffic permission(许可)in signs， and it can also be used for emergency access(紧急通道).

The blue colour is regarded as a symbol of purity(纯净).It means safety in traffic.
