Life in the future will be different from life today. Many changes will happen. But what will the changes be?

The population (人口) is growing fast. There will be more people in the world and most of them will live longer than people live now. 

Computers will be much smaller and more useful, and there will be at least one in every home. And computer studies will be one of the important subjects in school then. People will work fewer hours than they do now and they will have more free time for sports, watching TV and travelling. Travelling will be much cheaper and easier. 

There will be changes in our food, too. More land will be used for building new towns and houses for all the people. Then there will be less room for cows and sheep, so meat will be more expensive. Maybe no one will eat it every day. Instead (相反), they will eat more fruit and vegetables. Maybe people will be healthier. Work in the future will be different, too. Robots will do dangerous and hard work. Because of this, many people will not have enough (足够的) work to do. This will be a problem. 

Sara comes from a big family and they live in a small flat. Sara's dad {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (work)hard, {#blank#}2{#/blank#} he doesn't make enough money to buy a house.

Sara has {#blank#}3{#/blank#} dream. She dreams that her family will have {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (they) own house. It seems difficult {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (make) her dream come true, but Sara's friend Jenny wants to help.

One day, Jenny reads about a program called"Houses for People". She tells Sara about it. Many people get together and help to build a house {#blank#}6{#/blank#} a family in need.They work for free. Local businesses(当地企业) buy things to build the house. Anyone can help. You don't have to be good at {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (build) houses because there is always something to do. Sara's family are {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (interest) in the program and wrote down the family name.

{#blank#}9{#/blank#} (Lucky), they get the result(结果) they want.

After a long winter of waiting, Sara's family are happy to know the work will begin on March 7th. It is a nice Saturday morning, and more than thirty people come to help.Over the next three {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (week), the new house is well under way.

The big day comes on March 30th. A new white house sits where once only a dream stands.

Let's face it—money isn't always easy to come by, especially when you haven't got a job and your parents don't give you an allowance（补助）. And at the weekends, you might want to shop, eat at a restaurant or see a film. That all adds up! But no money doesn't mean no fun! Here's a list of some of our favourite ideas for "free time"!

Go out to libraries, and look at the noticeboards there. You might see a sign for a free concert in the park or a poem reading. Your library or community centre might offer free activities, such as language lessons or film nights. Bring your friends and try something new!

No money for a film night? No problem! Nature puts on an even better show. Find a quiet space outdoors, spread a blanket（毯子）on the ground and look up at the night sky. Use apps to help you find stars and constellations（星座）. Add music to make it more enjoyable.

If you haven't got money to go to a film, just make one! Write a script（剧本）.（This is more fun if several friends join in. ） Find old clothes and household items to use as costumes（服装） and props（道具）. （Ask your mom and dad first, of course.） Practise, and then film it with a phone or tablet（平板）. When the film's ready, host a viewing party!

Get a group of friends together and volunteer. You'll feel great and you'll have a great time doing it. Look for opportunities in your community. Pick up litter, clean up an animal house or visit a home for the old people. Helping out can make others happy, and what's more fun than that?

Long long ago, there was a boy called Cao Chong. He was the {#blank#}1{#/blank#} son of Cao Cao. He was very smart.

Once, one of Cao Cao's friends {#blank#}2{#/blank#} him a big elephant. Cao Cao was very happy and thanked him. He looked at the big animal and {#blank#}3{#/blank#} to his friends," What a big and heavy elephant! Can you tell {#blank#}4{#/blank#} how to weigh it?" They thought {#blank#}5{#/blank#}, but nobody could think of a good way. Just for that moment, Cao Chong was playing games with brothers. As soon as they heard this, they stopped playing. They all tried their best to come up with a way. After a while, Cao Chong thought up a great idea. He asked a man to take the elephant into a {#blank#}6{#/blank#}, and then marked(标上……作为记号) a line where the water went up. After that the man took the elephant out of the boat. Cao Chong asked other persons to put some {#blank#}7{#/blank#} into the boat instead of the elephant. {#blank#}8{#/blank#} the water went up to the marked line, he told them to weigh all the stones. In this way, he could know {#blank#}9{#/blank#} heavy the elephant was. All of Cao Cao's friends spoke highly of Cao Chong. They thought he would be somebody(大人物) when he {#blank#}10{#/blank#} up.

What are on your desk? Your model planes? Your picture books? Some kids say reading is good. Books are important to them. Do you like reading? What about reading to a cat or a dog? 

To make* boys and girls open their books and love reading, the Acton Memorial Library lets boys and girls read to a dog every Monday afternoon. In the picture is a boy with a dog. The boy is Stone. He reads to a dog in the library. He thinks reading to a dog is fun. The name of the dog is Molly and she is 5. She isn't black or white. She is brown. She is a reading dog and her job is to make boys and girls like reading. 

The reading dog is nice and all the people love her. Many boys and girls love reading to her, so she is very busy*. Do you want to read to her, too? Come to the library in America!

①Where have those traditional hour-and-a-half-long films from the old days gone? In recent years, we've seen more and more big Hollywood films run for three hours or more. 

②There were films like Avatar: The Way of Water（《阿凡达:水之道》） that lasted three hours and 10minutes, and Oppenheimer（《奥本海默》） that went on for three hours and nine seconds. On Oct 20, Martin Scorsese's Killers of the Flower Moon（《花月杀手》） went for about three and a half hours. When it came out at the Cannes Film Festival in May, some people got sleepy, and there was a long line for the restroom. People started asking: Why have films become so long?

③Franchises（特许经营权）are one driver of longer films as studios（工作室） want to make the most out of their expensive intellectual property（知识产权）, said The Economist. The hope is that a great, longer film will draw audiences away from streaming platforms（流媒体平台） and into cinemas. This. plan has often paid off: Avengers: Endgame（《复仇者联盟:终局之战》）, Marvel's three-hour superhero film, was the highest-grossing（票房最高的） film in 2019. 

④Also, longer films have to do with the growing influence of directors. Studios have given famous directors, like Nolan and Scorsese, greater creative freedom. Otherwise, streaming platforms may lure （诱惑） the famous directors away. They do not have to worry as much about the length because viewers can pause at will, noted Vanity Fair《名利场》. 

⑤However, longer running times also bring some problems. Cinemas can play fewer films because a three-hour film takes up more screen time. The audience may choose streaming platforms instead of going to the movies.
