Mini school brings fun

When the COVID-19 pandemic spread in the US, all students stayed at home. Lily opened a mini 'school' for her sister, Lucy and Lucy's best friend, Karen, in a garage（车库）.

After dusting the cobwebs（蜘蛛网）and sweeping the floor, the garage was finally clean enough. Later,Lily brought in a few tables and chairs, lots of paper, a whiteboard and a bag of markers（马克笔）.

The class began every day at about 3:00 in the afternoon till evening. Karen's mother, Emma, paid Lily $1 a day and Lily's mom did the same thing. When Lucy and Karen first arrived, Lily taught the girls how to count numbers. She also drew many pictures on paper with a black marker to teach the girls how to color.

They did different activities every day. One time, they drew pictures of themselves on the paper plates， decorated（装饰）them and put them on the wall. During the break，they played in the driveway. Sometimes, other friends joined in the fun until the moon lit the dark night sky.

Lily really enjoyed being a teacher and she hopes she can get more chances（机会）to teach soon!

Sam: How many people are there in your family?

Jane: My family has five people. They're my parents, my baby brother, my little puppy and me.

Sam: Oh, you have a big family.

Hi, I'm Kate. I am a new student in Willow School. I am tall and thin. I have long hair and big eyes. I have a new schoolbag. It's pink and white. It looks like a cat. There are three notebooks and two storybooks in it. There is a nice pencil box, too. It's purple. There are four pencils, a pen, an eraser and two rulers in it. Oh, where's my schoolbag? Oh, it's under the chair.
