In the past, I thought I was terrible at many things, such as maths, French and science.{#blank#}1{#/blank#}I was good at drawing, I wasn't the best in my art class. I {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(want) to find out who I was, what I liked and how I could do it well. So, in that winter, I took {#blank#}3{#/blank#}notebook and kept my diary. When I filled that notebook, I started another one, and then another.

{#blank#}4{#/blank#}(keep) a diary helps me a lot. Studies have shown that people who keep a diary sleep and feel much {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(good). It helps people remember what once happened such as {#blank#}6{#/blank#} ( dream ), friendships and happiness. Writing about bad feelings can also help brains get over {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(they) and move on. Personally, I learn more about myself and my relationships with others {#blank#}8{#/blank#}keeping a diary. For example, if I want to compare myself with my classmates, I'll write something like, "I might not have clear skin, but I {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(true) like my eyes."

Right now, you might be thinking: It sounds great, {#blank#}10{#/blank#}I'm not a good writer; or I'd love to keep a diary, but my handwriting is terrible, Don't worry! Keeping a diary is not like doing your homework — there are no rules, so do whatever you feel best.

Nina felt nervous this morning. She couldn't believe that she decided to tryout for a talent show. She loved to sing but she disliked singing in front of other people. 

Taking a deep breath, she pushed open the door of the theater and went inside. 

The room was filled with laughing children. Nina saw Luz, James and others from her class. The bright, sunny room left her no place to hide. A few teachers sat on chairs. They waited for the children to become quiet. 

"Hi, Nina!" Luz called out. "I didn't think you would tryout. You are so timid(胆怯的) in front of people. "

"That's not true, " Nina said. "I'm not shy at all. "

"Yeah, right, " Luz chuckled(轻声地笑) and ran off to find a seat. 

One by one the students got up on the stage(舞台) and did their acts. 

"Nina Martinez!" a voice called out. It was Mrs. Brent, the music teacher. Nina rose from her chair. She felt small as she walked to the huge, empty stage. Her face was hot and her shaking hands were as cold as ice. 

"I-I-" Nina began, and then stopped. "I can't, " she said softly. 

"Close your eyes, " said Mrs. Brent gently. "Forget about everyone else. Just sing. "

Nina felt silly, but she gave it a try. She closed her eyes and raised her voice and sang out. Her hands stopped shaking. 

The song was so nice that everybody enjoyed it. 

Nina heard Mrs. Brent clap (鼓掌) loudly at the end of her song. "That's the first time I have really heard your voice, " she said. "You are in the show!"

Nina let out a big sigh(叹息) and smiled happily. 

When is your favorite time? Lily 1 to school from Monday to Friday. And lunchtime is her 2 time. 

Lily loves the school lunch. Some students don't like the school lunch,3 they think it's not good. They bring（带来） their 4 to school. Their mothers make hamburgers or salad for them for lunch. Some students bring leftovers（剩饭菜）for lunch. But Lily doesn't!She thinks the school lunch is 5 . Her lunch is only ＄1. 35. She can 6 good and healthy food. She has lunch 7 her friends. Boys can have lunch with girls. They like to talk about（谈论） their favorite subjects（科目）, their favorite 8 and their favorite days. After lunch,9 like to play games.

They find their best ways to go. 

Jack wants to see his grandma. It is 5 kilometers away from his home. So he can get to his{#blank#}3{#/blank#}(grandma) home by bus. 

Mrs Green and Kate want to go to the sea in another city.{#blank#}4{#/blank#} they don't like to take the plane. They want a slow and {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(relax) travel. So one of the best{#blank#}6{#/blank#}(way) of travelling for them is to take a train. 

Mr Green wants to visit London. He {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(watch) TV about it and knows how to go there. He plans {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(take) just one bag with him. Driving his own car is{#blank#}9{#/blank#} good idea. 

Ann likes long journeys. It is so great to make friends with others. Next week she{#blank#}10{#/blank#}(fly) to Paris to see her friends. 

I'm Mike. This is my room. A bed, a desk, a chair, a sofa and a TV are in my room. A green quilt(被子)is on the bed. I like the colour green. My desk is green, too. And my blue schoolbag is on it. My white jacket is on the chair. And a ball is under the chair. What's that on the sofa? It's an English-Chinese dictionary. It's my sister's. The TV is nice. It is from my grandfather. I like watching TV on the sofa.
