Many people may feel tired and upset every Monday since it is the first day of weekdays.
Make a list of what you want to do
Instead of focusing on the difficult tasks that are ahead of you, think about all the good to come. A good place to start is to think of one thing you are excited about. For example, simple things that can cheer you up like meeting a friend for coffee.
Make sure of enough sleep on Sunday evenings
Poor sleep can cause stress (压力), while healthy sleep can cheer you up. So, if you find yourself a little more annoyed than normal, sleep may be the answer. Take a short break or get to bed earlier. It's worth doing this on Sunday to avoid feeling tired on Monday morning.
Wear what you like
Don't underestimate (低估) the power of your clothes.
They suggest we should put on clothes that can bring us happiness. In short, Monday is the best day for you to wear what makes you feel great.
Arrange (安排) something relaxing for yourself
After a weekend of fun, it might be best to keep Monday's schedule a little lighter than other days. It means that instead of facing the most difficult tasks on Monday, you can put time into some easier tasks. Putting less stress on yourself is a good way to deal with the Monday blues.
A. Sleep has a great effect on your mood (情绪).
B. This doesn't mean sitting around and doing nothing.
C. Here are some tips to help you feel better on Monday.

A myth(传说) is something that is not correct, but many people believe. There are a lot of myths about the human brain. One of the biggest myths is that we only use 10 percent of our brains. The next part of the myth is that if we can learn to use the rest of our brains, we'll be much smarter. People say this all the time, but it's not true! Tho truth is that although we don't know everything about the human brain, we know that each part of it has an important function(功能). Modern scientists think the"10 percent myth" ridiculous(荒谬的). The other most popular myth is about being" right brained" or" left brained". According to this myth, people who use the right side of their brains are more artistic and creative. People who use the left side of their brains are better at math and science. This is as popular as the 10 percent myth, and it's also wrong. In 2013, a study at an American university examined the right brain and left brain myth. According to the study, we use both sides of our brains equally. It's true that we use different parts of our brains for different things. We use our left side for language more, and our right side when we need to pay attention. But there is no evidence (证据) that creative people use the right side more, or that scientific people use the left side more. We've talked about myths, so let's look at a few interesting facts about the brain. First of all, the brain feels no pain. Second, about 75 percent of the brain is made of water. It's also the fattest organ(器官) in your body. Here's one more interesting fact about the brain. Around the time you turn 18 years old, it stops growing. |
Do you have trouble creating a big idea? {#blank#}1{#/blank#}
Scientists have found a connection between daydreaming and creative problem-solving. {#blank#}2{#/blank#} They had to think of as many ways as they could. Then, before solving the difficult problem again, they chose to do one of the following things: work out a difficult problem, work out an easy one, or take a 12-minute break.
{#blank#}3{#/blank#} Many students reported that they were daydreaming when doing the easy task. So the scientists believed that daydreaming might help them become more creative.
But how could daydreaming help the brain think creatively? {#blank#}4{#/blank#} Even when you are
not actively working on a problem, it is still in the back of your mind. Your brain is still thinking about it, but you are unaware of it.
Great ideas never come easily, but that does not mean you always have to work hard to get them. {#blank#}5{#/blank#}.
A. Surprisingly, the best group was the one that chose the easy problem. B. Just do what you want and let your mind feel free. C. Perhaps you can try daydreaming. D. Their study includes asking a group of students to solve a difficult problem. E. Have you ever created any big idea? F. The answer is something known as"unconscious thought"(无意识思维). |
